👩🏻🏫 PUNK ROCK RADUNO GOES BACK TO SCHOOL
This winter, we entered the classrooms of the Istituto Caniana in Bergamo with a project connected to this year’s festival theme: “Make Your Own Kind Of Music”.
Together with the students, we explored DIY not simply as an aesthetic or musical genre, but as a personal and collective attitude capable of transforming emotions, ideas and experiences into something tangible.
The students were invited to create original graphic works inspired by the theme and the response was incredible: more than 60 artworks were developed during the project, each one carrying its own interpretation of creativity, identity, fragility and self-expression.
Among all the submissions, three finalist projects were selected by the Punk Rock Raduno team and earned a scholarship sponsored by the festival together with Libreria Palomar and Bandcamp, while the winning graphic will also become an official Punk Rock Raduno tote bag available during this summer’s festival.
Last week we officially revealed the winners during a special day held together with Paolo Proserpio, who led a huge DIY screen-printing workshop where students printed the winning artwork by hand on tote bags and different surfaces, experiencing directly one of the most iconic practices connected to DIY culture.
For us, this project represents the deeper meaning behind this year’s motto: finding your own direction, transforming fragility into energy and using creativity to build connections with others.
The works were created by students from classes 4AT, 4BT, 4ET and 3BS under the guidance of teachers Enza Leonardi, Laura Locatelli and Massimiliano Capillo.
Next step: a special screen-printing session at Proserpio Studio together with the winning students, plus an exhibition of all the works during the festival.
Fun and amazing fact: many of the students involved in the project have already decided to volunteer at this year’s festival as photographers, artists and helpers.
