Principal Investigator Stefano Rozzoni will take us into a research process already under way, exploring what spiritual capital might mean, why it matters and how an international research group is approaching the questions surrounding it.

It is also a chance to follow the research as it develops and bring your own questions to the conversation.

📖 𝗖𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝗮 𝗽𝘂𝗼̀ 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗴𝗴𝗶 𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹’𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗮?

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗻.

After days of looking closely together at reality, questioning the way we understand the economy and testing what 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 can mean in practice, the EoF International Summer School 2026 comes to a close.

Across Osnabrück and Mettingen, participants brought different disciplines, countries and lived experiences into a shared process of inquiry and experimentation.

Fraternity was approached not as a ready-made answer, but as something to examine, measure, challenge and translate into concrete ways of thinking and acting in the economy.

Not every question leaves with an answer. Perhaps that was never the point.

What leaves with us are new connections, perspectives and possibilities, and a question that now returns to each participant in a different context: 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆?

These questions are at the heart of an EoF research journey exploring spiritual capital as an analytical category for contemporary debates on economy, society and integral human development.

Bringing together perspectives from economics, philosophy, theology, the social sciences, and literary and cultural studies, the international research group will explore the concept through three main strands: conceptual, interpretive and applied.

The journey is already under way, and now you can follow it on our website.

Over the first days of the 𝗘𝗼𝗙 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, fraternity has been explored not only as an idea, but as a question to investigate, measure, discuss and bring into practice.

Research on the 𝗘𝗼𝗙 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅 opened the conversation around how fraternity can be observed in economic and social life. From there, different perspectives on enterprise, technology, urban development and social sustainability expanded the discussion, while participants brought their own research, projects and experiences into dialogue through the 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

Now, the 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 is taking this journey one step further: working in interdisciplinary groups, participants are confronting concrete challenges and exploring what fraternity might change in the way we think, collaborate and act.

Different disciplines, countries and lived experiences. One shared question that continues to take shape through the work.
