The Slemani International Film Festival (SIFF) is one of the largest cultural events held in Slemani city, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and it’s organized by the Commission of Slemani International Film Festival annually in October since 2016. ms in four categories: feature films, documentaries, animated and short films from all over the world and the Kurdish parts of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria. Each year, about 150 local and international films will be screened for the first time in Iraq, seminars, workshops, and panel discussions will be held by professionals, and hundreds of international guests attend the festival. This Festival aims to develop the Kurdish film industry and increase the standard of filmmaking, as well as attracting filmmakers, producers, and international film companies to this region. At the same time, wishes to support Kurdish filmmakers by providing a platform for presenting Kurdish films to an international audience, as well as increasing cultural exchange between them.
