Bellur-Harihara Mukkatira family, along with the Kodava Hockey Academy have decided to postpone the 23rd Kodava Hockey Festival from April/May 2020 to April/May 2021. The decision has been taken for public safety and well being from the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

The Mukkatira Hockey Festival Logo is being unveiled today at the India v/s South Africa T 20 Match tonight at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Post selfies or interesting images with the logo and stand a chance to win free stays at select Kodagu Homestays who support Kodava Hockey Festival.

Mukkatira Family (Bellur, Harihara) is proud to unveil the Mukkatira Hockey Festival Logo for the 23rd Annual Kodava Hockey Festival 2020.

The thought process which went behind the Logo.

The oval shape represents fertility, rebirth and immortality.

Our Kodava community's rich culture is completely based on ancestral customs and traditions practiced by our ancestors. Mukkatira Karana take a prominently position in the center of the logo. The Rays from the 'Karana' depict the intense and unconditional blessings of our forefathers towards the participating families, players, organising teams, sponsors and the lakhs of audience participating in the upcoming Hockey Festival.

On every Kodava occasion or festival, a Kodava Pattedara in white 'kupya' (Robe) performs the inaugural programs, hence showcasing one of our ancestors pushing the hockey ball to open Mukkatira Hockey Festival 2020.

The green foreground signifies turf and spirit of hockey in the land called the Cradle of Indian Hockey.
