💡 Coach’s Notes: Working Through Injury & Making a Strong Comeback

Injuries are part of sports. Every athlete, at some point, faces setbacks.
The first step is to stop asking:
“Why me?” or “Why am I getting injured while others are fine?”

Instead, shift your focus toward:
➡️ “What can I do today to recover better?”

Recovery is a process that needs patience, discipline, and trust. Some injuries may take days, some weeks — but during that phase, your mindset matters the most.

This is the time to:
✔️ Focus on rehab honestly
✔️ Build strength gradually
✔️ Explore cross-training activities
✔️ Improve mobility & recovery habits
✔️ Follow your health adviser’s protocol consistently

A comeback isn’t built by rushing back too early.
It’s built by respecting the healing process.

And once you recover, the goal is not only to return — but to return smarter. 🔥

Pay attention to:
🥗 Proper nutrition
💤 Recovery & sleep
🧘 Mobility & foam rolling
🏋️ Strength work
⚠️ Backing off when your body gives early pain signals

The biggest lesson every athlete should learn:

*Story of a Debut 10K Run by Rakesh Patel in 6 Months of Training*🏃‍♂️

Every running journey starts with a single step—and for Rakesh bhai, it began with simple walks, progressing to walk-run sessions, and now completing runs continuously without breaks, which itself is a huge achievement.

His journey started around early December, when he met us during the Adani Marathon, where his son Harsh completed his best-ever Full Marathon while Rakesh bhai stood outside cheering as a proud spectator. Little did he know that a few months later, he would begin creating his own running story.

With remarkable consistency, discipline, and dedication over the last 6 months, he gradually built his endurance and confidence. During the winter season, he completed a couple of strong 5K runs around 33 minutes, while we intentionally kept the focus on refining shorter distances before progressing towards the 10K distance through a smart and gradual approach.

And today, that patience and commitment paid off with his debut 10K run! 🎉

Congratulations, Rakesh bhai—this is truly a proud moment for me as a coach. Seeing your transformation from walking to confidently completing a 10K is incredibly inspiring.

From building strength to breaking limits, the progress has been phenomenal.
Proud of the effort, proud of the mindset, and proud of the journey. ❤️

Not every day is perfect for a long workout.

Some days, work gets busy. Family needs attention. Energy feels low. And that’s where most people completely skip training. But fitness is not only built in long sessions.
Sometimes, it’s built in those small 10–15 minute efforts you choose to do anyway. 💪

A quick mobility drill between meetings.
short walk/ride
Few bodyweight exercises at home.
Short core work.
Stretching while your body feels stiff.

These small moments of movement create something powerful over time:
➡️ Muscle memory
➡️ Consistency
➡️ Discipline
➡️ Long-term strength

Summer training is supposed to feel hard. Heat and humidity increase the effort on your body—even if the pace looks slower on the watch.

💡 Don’t chase pace in tough weather conditions.
Be smart enough to adjust:
✔️ Slow down by ~10 sec/km (or more if needed)
✔️ Focus on effort & heart rate, not ego
✔️ Prioritize consistency over intensity

🔹 Summer Running Essentials:

💧 Hydrate well before, during & after runs
⚡ Use electrolytes / energy drinks to replace lost salts
🚰 Don’t wait to feel thirsty

🏃 *Transformation Journey of Zahir Chasmawala in 18 Months of Training: from 5k to SUB-2 Half Marathon* 🏃‍

Zahir started his journey from 5k Unity Run in November 2024 after making his debut 5 km in 33 minutes. He joined our training team since then and making steady progress. with some ups & down in this journey of 18 months, we tackled with some smart work & training intensity/volume adjustment as per the weekly progress report and thats what helped in long term, by following individual plan of training, rather than copying others as each person is different in terms of strength & weakness.

This journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and smart training. From a 5k to setting new benchmarks, Zahir has shown that discipline and belief can lead to extraordinary progress & achieving incredible milestones!

Personal Bests & Achievements:
> 1 mile 7:42 at Run&Ride2Fit Time Trial
> 5K 26:02 at 5k Unity Run 2025
> 10K 53:28 at Reva Marathon
> 21.1K 1:58 at Adani Marathon
> 35K 4:07 at Tata Ultra Marathon at Lonavala 2026
