International Film Festival of Kerala - IFFK Official handle of International Film Festival of Kerala by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy The marketing section is gathering importance year after year.

International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is one of the chief planks of the Film Academy. In fact the Government had started IFFK in a modest way from 1994 onwards. Under the leadership of Academy it soon emerged as one of the important film events of the world. IFFK has a competition section for films from the Asian, African and Latin American films. The non competition section includes inter alia contemporary world cinema and films of great masters.

Submissions can be made through the website: https://idsffk.in
Last date for submission of entries: May 10, 2026.

Entries are invited in the following categories: Long Documentary (40 minutes and above), Short Documentary (below 40 minutes), Short Fiction (60 minutes and below) under the competition section, along with Non-Competition, Animation, and Campus Films sections.

Films completed between May 01, 2025 and April 30, 2026 are eligible for submission.

Preview materials must be submitted only as online screeners. Upon submitting the application form, the submission fee for the competition category must be paid through the link provided in the confirmation email.

[EN] Entries are open for the 18th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Submissions can be made through the website https://idsffk.in. The last date for submission of entries is 2026 May 10.

മല്‍സരവിഭാഗത്തിലെ ദീര്‍ഘ ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി (40മിനിറ്റും അതില്‍ കൂടിയതും) ഹ്രസ്വ ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി ( 40 മിനിറ്റില്‍ കുറഞ്ഞവ) ഷോര്‍ട്ട് ഫിക്ഷന്‍ (60 മിനിറ്റും അതില്‍ കുറഞ്ഞതും) മല്‍സരേതര വിഭാഗം, അനിമേഷന്‍ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍, കാമ്പസ് ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ എന്നീ വിഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്കാണ് എന്‍ട്രികള്‍ ക്ഷണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. 2025 മെയ് ഒന്നിനും 2026 ഏപ്രില്‍ 30നുമിടയില്‍ ചിത്രീകരണം പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കിയ ചിത്രങ്ങളാണ് അയയ്ക്കേണ്ടത്.

ഓണ്‍ലൈന്‍ സ്‌ക്രീനറുകള്‍ മാത്രമേ പ്രിവ്യു മെറ്റീരിയല്‍ ആയി സ്വീകരിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ. അപേക്ഷ ഫോറം സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചതിനുശേഷം ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഇ-മെയിലിലെ ലിങ്ക് വഴി മല്‍സരവിഭാഗത്തിലേക്കുള്ള സബ്മിഷന്‍ ഫീ അടയ്ക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.

Hungarian auteur and the legendary master of slow cinema, Béla Tarr, the Lifetime Achievement awardee at the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), was celebrated for his mastery in crafting deeply atmospheric films that confront the human condition with haunting, long takes and meditative storytelling. His work, often marked by existential themes and a contemplative pace, left an indelible mark on world cinema.

In grief, we remember Tarr's extraordinary contribution to the art of filmmaking and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his work.
