Our Theme: Climbing Beyond
“The idea behind the theme is transcendence. Comes from the Latin words ‘trans’ (beyond) and ‘scandare’ (to climb), thus literally to climb beyond.
I think in a space like Ashoka, the idea of being beyond a certain specific identity is really prevalent - in general I think it applies to the collegiate space since that’s a question everyone ends up with (What’s beyond all this? Where do I go beyond this?)
It’s not as much a question of ‘beyond’ implying future plans but in general conquering something to be beyond it - whether it be identities or drawbacks or ideologies or environments.”
