His Holiness is THAKUR SHREE SHREE BALAK BRAHMACHARI MAHARAJ. He is the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE. He is the Eternity. Shree Shree Thakur advocates the need to maintain equality amongst all living beings. He suggests mutual co-operation as the way to achieve this end. He cites the harmonious movement of stars and planets` in the galaxy as an example for affection and mutual co-operation. These ideals of Thakur Shri Shri Balak Brahmachari Maharaj later took shape as the doctrine called "Vedic Communism". For being the preacher of the doctrine of "Vedic "Communism". It is not right to interpret Shri Shri Thakur as a 'Communist'. He belongs to none of the 'Isms'. Shri Shri Thakur is the preacher of 'Vedas'. In His bid to promote the Vedic Knowledge among the manking and for the creation of casteless and creedless society. Shri Shri Thakur has established an organisation called "SANTAN DAL", which commands membership amounting to several crores. More than 500 years ago during 1486-1533, Sri Chaitanya popularly known as Gourango Mahaprabhu had started a spiritual revolution in India through his "sankirtana" bhakti movement (congregational chanting of the holy names of god) for liberation of humanity. When adopting "sannyasa" (complete renunciation of family life and material obligations for spiritual upliftment) Sri Chaitanya assured his grief-stricken maternal uncle Sri Bishnu Das Thakur that He would be re-born as His nephew in the 13th generation of maternal uncle’s lineage. Famous poet Sri Gopinath Kanthavaran, son-in-law of Sri Bishnu Das Thakur in his book "Nagarjun", narrated this dialogue between Sri Chaitanya and His maternal uncle. His prophecy of Sri Chaitanya was passed on from generation to generation, and the family of Sri Bishnu Das Thakur eagerly awaited re-incarnation of the Sri Sri Chaitanya as the New Messiah. Birth of the child took place in 13th generation of the family lineage of Sri Bishnu Das Thakur on auspicious day of Deepawali (festival of lights) on Tuesday 9th November 1920 (corre‘‘sponding to Bengali Year 23 Kartik 1327 BS) at 10.20 PM at Medinimondal Village, in the district of Vikrampur, Dacca in Bangladesh to Sri Balak Brahmachari's parents, Sri Surendra Chandra Chakroborty and Smt. Charushila Devi. In the long process of pious episodes Saint Loknath Brahmachari’s treatment of another close disciple Jogesh Chowdhury also appear quite interesting. Giving him a saffron cloth, saint Loknath Brahmachari assured him of his imminent meeting with his guru in the following manner, “Keep on searching for a Great One. You must not worry about recognizing him when you happen to meet him. He will himself a`sk for the saffron cloth and that will convince you of his true identity.” During his visits to a number of holy places, Jogesh Chowdhury heard of Thakur Balak Brahmachari and finally met the Seer but he was hesitating to walk to him. But the Seer himself asked for the same saffron cloth, thus convincing the disciple of his true identity. Sounds so Strange! Similarly, another spiritual recluse residing in Himalayan heights, Adityanath baba also predicted that a Purna Brahman incarnation would appear on the soil of Bengal with his mysterious activities. Right from his miraculous birth, Balak Thakur started displaying his spiritual powers which was really astonishing in the realm of spiritualism. Even his inadequate school education failed to reach up to the heights achieved by this inborn Janmasiddha Superman at an early age. In fact, his entire life was a queer conglomeration of endless miracles. Personally Balak Thakur never tried to explain the miraculous events accompanying his life. He simply said,” It is no use trying to convince people with stories of my miracles. Spread my teachings to all rather than dwell up on miracles.”‘ But miracles are a class by themselves Thousands of divine miracles silently happens to the enormous delight of devotees, relatives, school teachers and the vast audience. The New Messiah’s 22 day-long Nirbikalpa Samadhi in the very heart of Calcutta caused a great sensation. It was published in Calcutta Jugantar daily of 20th December, 1960. In one of the discourses, The New Messiah dwelt heavily on the efficiency of Vedic Knowledge. The Veda, The original in his opinion had touched a new horizon. He quoted from The Veda, "Abolish class differences, drink water from the same ghat, reap the harvest from the same field, sit in the common ground, let the same firmament be the canopy for all." The Veda was an innovative process which applies even today. No peace in the world was possible, he asserted, until the evil influence of the rich and the asuras was eradicated completely. This very conception of Vedic revolution is prevalent. Both Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Sri Thakur emphasized the importance of Naam Kirtan (Group Chanting of Spiritual Words). Sri Chaitanya composed "Hare Krishna Hare Ram" Naam, and Sri Sri Thakur gave us "Ram Narayan Ram". According to Sri Sri Thakur, these names do not represent God Rama or God Krishna. These names or words are Primordial Vedic Words having special spiritual significance. They describe the characteristics of the Eternal `Void or Space and the Infinite Truth or Tune. Their meaning is deep-rooted and broad-based. Hence these special names or words are applied for chanting and spiritual effect. Like in the case of several other great holy masters, Sri Sri Thakur also had to face constant harassment caused by vested groups. He was falsely implicated in several cases and proceedings. Attempts were also made on His life right from His childhood days. Sri Sri Thakur entered into samadhi (a super conscious state) on Wednesday, 5 May1993 in Kolkata.
