পুরাতনের আবরণ ঝরিয়ে, নববর্ষের প্রভাতে যখন নতুন দিনের আলো ধীরে ধীরে মনকে স্পর্শ করে, তখনই বেজে ওঠে আমাদের মিলনের সুর ‘ঐক্যতান’। অনিবার্য কারণে নির্ধারিত সময় থেকে কিছুটা সরে এলেও, তার আবেদন মলিন হয়নি; বরং নবতর প্রতীক্ষায় তা আরও গভীর হয়েছে।
এই নবযাত্রার সাথেই, আসুন আমরা একসাথে মিলিত হই আগামী ২৭শে এপ্রিল, আনন্দ, সংস্কৃতি ও হৃদয়ের ঐক্যে।

As the old slowly fades into memory, and the soft light of the New Year’s morning gently touches the heart, the melody of togetherness, “Oikyotaan’26,” seems to return once more. Though unavoidable circumstances led us slightly away from the time we first hoped for, its spirit has not faded in the slightest. Rather, the wait has only made it feel closer, warmer, and even more meaningful.
With this new beginning and renewed journey, let us come together again on the 27th of April in joy, culture, and a beautiful bond of hearts.

"মুছে যাক গ্লানি, ঘুছে যাক জরা
অগ্নিস্নানে শুচি হোক ধরা !"

'পহেলা বৈশাখ' বাংলা নববর্ষের প্রথম দিন, যা শুধু একটি তারিখ নয়, বাঙালির আত্মপরিচয়ের এক উজ্জ্বল প্রতীক। মুঘল সম্রাট আকবরের সময়ে কৃষিকাজ ও রাজস্ব আদায়ের সুবিধার জন্য বাংলা সনের প্রবর্তন হয়। সেই ঐতিহাসিক প্রেক্ষাপট থেকেই আজকের এই দিনটি হয়ে উঠেছে উৎসব, আনন্দ আর নতুন শুরুর প্রতীক।

পহেলা বৈশাখ মানেই এক নতুন ভোর পুরনো সব দুঃখ, ক্লান্তি ও ব্যর্থতাকে পিছনে ফেলে নতুন আশায়, নতুন স্বপ্নে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার আহ্বান। এই দিনটিতে লাল-সাদা পোশাক, মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রা, পান্তা-ইলিশ, আর বাঙালির চিরচেনা হাসিমুখ যেন একসূত্রে গেঁথে দেয় আমাদের সকলকে। এটি শুধু একটি উৎসব নয়, বরং আমাদের আবেগ, ঐতিহ্য ও অস্তিত্বের এক অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ।

এই আনন্দ, ঐতিহ্য ও একতার বন্ধনকে আরও দৃঢ় করে তোলে আমাদের প্রিয় ঐক্যতন পরিবার। একসাথে উদযাপন, একসাথে হাসি-আনন্দ আর একসাথে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার এই যাত্রায়, ঐক্যতন হয়ে উঠেছে আমাদের সকলের একটি আবেগের নাম ! পহেলা বৈশাখের এই নতুন সূচনা আমাদের সকলের জীবনে নিয়ে আসুক শান্তি, সমৃদ্ধি আর অফুরন্ত আনন্দ।

চৈত্র সংক্রান্তি বাঙালির লোকজ জীবনে বিদায় ও নবআশার এক গভীর আবেগময় অধ্যায়। পুরোনো বছরের গ্লানি, ক্লান্তি ও অন্ধকারকে পেছনে ফেলে নতুন আলোর দিনের প্রত্যাশায় মানুষ এদিন নিজেকে মন থেকে প্রস্তুত করে।চৈত্র সংক্রান্তির অন্যতম প্রধান একটি লোকাচার হলো চড়ক পুজা , যা মূলত ভগবান শিবকে উৎসর্গ করা হয়। এটি গাজন উৎসবের অংশ, যেখানে ভক্তরা উপবাস, ব্রত ও নানা কৃচ্ছসাধনার মাধ্যমে শিবের আশীর্বাদ কামনা করেন। অনেক স্থানে চড়ক গাছে ঘোরা, আগুনের উপর হাঁটা বা শরীরী তপস্যার রীতিও দেখা যায়। শিব-গৌরী নাচ ও নিরামিষ আহারের মধ্য দিয়ে উৎসবের আবহ প্রাণবন্ত হয়ে ওঠে। শহরে এর আয়োজন তুলনামূলক সংযত হলেও গ্রামবাংলায় ঢাকের শব্দ, মেলা ও লোকাচারে দিনটি বিশেষ উচ্ছ্বাসে পালিত হয়। এই উৎসব মনে করিয়ে দেয়,প্রতিটি অবসানের মাঝেই লুকিয়ে থাকে নতুন সূচনার উজ্জ্বল সম্ভাবনা।

Chaitra Sankranti is a poignant celebration of farewell and renewal in Bengali culture, observed on 14 April in 2026. It symbolizes letting go of the old year’s sorrow, weariness, and gloomy days while welcoming brighter hopes ahead. Rituals like Charak Puja is one of the most important folk rituals of Chaitra Sankranti, dedicated mainly to Lord Shiva. It is part of the Gajan festival, where devotees observe fasting, vows, and acts of penance to seek Shiva’s blessings. In some places, traditional rituals include swinging from the Charak pole, fire-walking, and other symbolic austerities. Gouri dance, Gajan fairs, and simple vegetarian meals keep the folk spirit alive. In cities, celebrations are often modest, while in villages the day comes alive with drums, fairs, and vibrant traditions. “ভাই এর কপালে দিলাম ফোঁটা, যমের দুয়ারে পড়লো কাটা
যমুনা দেয় যমকে ফোঁটা, আমি দিই আমার ভাইকে ফোঁটা”
ভাইফোঁটা~ভাই-বোনের ভালোবাসা, বিশ্বাস আর গভীর বন্ধনের এক অনন্য প্রকাশ। এটি কার্তিক মাসের শুক্ল পক্ষের দ্বিতীয়া তিথিতে উদযাপিত হয়।পশ্চিম ভারতে এই উৎসব “ভাইদুজ” নামেও পরিচিত। এই দিনে বোন ভালোবাসা আর আশীর্বাদ নিয়ে ভাইয়ের কপালে ফোঁটা দেয়, তার দীর্ঘায়ু, সুস্থতা আর সুখী জীবনের কামনা করে।ছোটবেলার খুনসুটি আর একসাথে কাটানো অসংখ্য স্মৃতি এই দিনে আরও বেশি মনে পড়ে। কখনো ঝগড়া, কখনো অভিমান, আবার মুহূর্তেই মিল-এই সম্পর্কটাই সবচেয়ে আলাদা। সময় বদলায়, দূরত্ব বাড়ে, কিন্তু এই ভালোবাসা কখনো ফিকে হয় না। সুন্দর এই দিনটিতে ভাই শুধু আশীর্বাদই পায় না, প্রতিশ্রুতিও দেয় সব সময় বোনের পাশে থাকার, তাকে রক্ষা করার। সম্পর্কের এই নিঃস্বার্থ টানই ভাইফোঁটার আসল সৌন্দর্য।

কালী পূজা একটি পবিত্র উৎসব, যা গভীর ভক্তি ও আধ্যাত্মিকতার সঙ্গে উদযাপিত হয়। এটি সাধারণত দীপাবলি-এর রাতেই পালিত হয় এবং উৎসর্গ করা হয় দেবী কালী-কে। এই উৎসব অশুভ শক্তির ওপর শুভ শক্তির বিজয় এবং দেবীর শক্তির প্রতীক।
বাঙালি সংস্কৃতিতে এই উৎসব অত্যন্ত আনন্দ ও আড়ম্বরের সঙ্গে পালিত হয়। বিভিন্ন জায়গায় সুন্দরভাবে সাজানো মণ্ডপে পূজা হয়, মানুষ ভক্তিভরে অঞ্জলি দেয় এবং চারপাশ প্রদীপ ও আলোর সাজে উজ্জ্বল হয়ে ওঠে। পরিবার ও বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে মিষ্টি ভাগাভাগি, আতশবাজি ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে উৎসবটি আরও প্রাণবন্ত হয়ে ওঠে।

এইবার ঐক্যতান যেন স্বপ্ন আর বাস্তবের অন্তরাল জুড়ে এক মোহনীয় অবগাহন।
মঞ্চে আসছে কিংবদন্তি ব্যান্ড ক্যাকটাস, তাদের সুরে অনুরণিত হবে চারপাশ, যেন “হলুদ পাখি” বিস্তীর্ণ আকাশে মুক্ত বিহঙ্গে ভেসে যায়, “মন” নিমগ্ন হয় সুরের অতল গহ্বরে, আর “বধূ রে” নিবিড় আবেগে স্পর্শ করে হৃদয়ের সুগভীর প্রান্তর।
আলোকছটা আর সুরধ্বনির মেলবন্ধনে, পরিচিত মুখগুলোর সমাবেশে, নির্মিত হবে এক অপার্থিব আবহ, যা অনুভূতির গভীরে দীর্ঘকাল প্রতিধ্বনিত হবে।

রূপং দেহি, জয়ং দেহি, যশো দেহি, দ্বিষো জহি

এই মন্ত্রোচ্চারণের মধ্য দিয়ে প্রতিটি বাঙালি তার বহু প্রতীক্ষিত তেরো পার্বণের শ্রেষ্ঠ পার্বণ দুর্গাপূজার শুভ সূচনা করে। এই মন্ত্রোচ্চারণের মাধ্যমে প্রত্যেকটা মানুষ মা দুর্গা দুর্গতিনাশিনীর কাছে জীবনে সৌন্দর্য, সাফল্য, সম্মান এবং অশুভ শক্তির বিনাশ প্রার্থনা করে।
শরতের আকাশের পেঁজা তুলোর মেঘ ও কাশফুলের চাদরে মোড়া বাংলার প্রত্যেকটা মানুষ মায়ের আগমনের প্রস্তুতিতে মেতে ওঠে।
ঢাকের শব্দ, ধুনুচির ধোঁয়া, নতুন কাপড়ের গন্ধ আর প্যান্ডেলের আলো-সব মিলিয়ে যেন গোটা বাংলা হঠাৎ করে জীবন্ত হয়ে ওঠে।
সপ্তমীর সকালে মায়ের প্রথম স্পর্শে বাঙালির মন ভরে ওঠে এক অদ্ভুত শিহরণে, শুরু হয় ভালোবাসা আর উৎসবের এক নতুন অধ্যায়
অষ্টমীর অঞ্জলিতে ভক্তি আর ভালোবাসায় ভরে ওঠে মন, আর নবমীর রাতে সেই আনন্দের মাঝেই ধীরে ধীরে বিদায়ের হালকা বিষাদ বাঙালির মন কে ভারাক্রান্ত করে।
দশমীতে আবেগপ্রবণ বাঙালির আবেগকে আহত করে মা দুর্গা আমাদের ছেড়ে পাড়ি দেন আবার এক বছরের অপেক্ষায়।
বাবুঘাট, বাগবাজার ঘাট, কদমতলার ঘাটে মা মিলিয়ে যান, তাঁর পুত্র-কন্যাদের পেছনে রেখে।
বাঙালিরা এই দুঃখের ক্ষণেও মাকে হাসিমুখে বিদায় জানায় সম্মিলিত “আসছে বছর আবার হবে” উচ্চারণে।

To a Bengali, Durga Puja is not merely a religious occasion, but rather the homecoming of beloved daughter Uma to her father's abode.
The origins of Durga Puja in Bengal can be traced back to the Bonedi Bari pujas of 16-17th centuries. It became a community celebration in 1790 when twelve friends of Guptipara celebrated the first Sarbojanin Pujo together, and today almost every neighbourhood hosts its own Sarbojanin Pujo.
Falling between September and October, the festival begins at the dawn of Mahalaya. This is the day when the eyes of the Goddess are painted. Celebrations unfold across five sacred days: Shashti, Saptami, Ashtami with its morning Anjali and the grand Sandhi Puja, and Navami, the last day of worship. Finally comes the bittersweet Dashami, when the Goddess is carried in a grand procession to the river and immersed to the beats of dhaak. The air is filled with the promise of “Ashche Bochor, Abar Hobe”.
In 2021, Kolkata's Durga Puja was inscribed on UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage: a global recognition of what Bengalis have always known in their hearts.
