আর ক'দিন পরেই বাঙালির প্রাণের উৎসবের সূচনা।দেবীপক্ষের শুভলগ্নে তাই আমাদের ছোট্ট প্রয়াস 'শারদ উৎসব-২৩'কে সাফল্যমণ্ডিত করতে আপনাদের উপস্তিতি আমাদের একান্ত কাম্য। আসুন, এই রবিবার, নাচে, গানে, কবিতায় আমরা মেতে উঠি আসন্ন পুজোর উন্মাদনায়।

পিতৃ পক্ষের সমাপ্তি ও দেবী পক্ষের সূচনাকাল ই হলো মহালয়া। ভাদ্র মাসের কৃষ্ণ পক্ষ থেকে এই পিতৃ পক্ষের সময়কাল শুরু হয়। পুরাণে কথিত আছে ব্রহ্মার নির্দেশে আমাদের পিতৃ পুরুষরা পিতৃ পক্ষের ১৫ দিন মনুষ্য লোকের কাছাকাছি চলে আসেন। তাই এই সময়ে যদি আমরা তাদের উদ্দশ্যে কিছু অর্পণ করি তাহলে তা খুব সহজেই তাদের কাছে পৌঁছে যায়। এই মহালয়ার দিন, পিতৃ পুরুষকে স্মরণ করে তাদের উদ্দেশ্যে তর্পণ করা হয়। এটি একটি জনপ্রিয় কৃতকর্ম। এই মহালয়া পিতৃ পক্ষের শেষ দিন। পরের দিন শুক্ল পক্ষে দেবী পক্ষের সূচনা হয়।
এই দিনের আরো একটি বৈশিষ্ট্য হলো প্রাত:কালে All India Radio তে প্রচারিত বিশেষ প্রভাতী অনুষ্ঠান। বীরেন্দ্র কৃষ্ণ ভদ্রের কণ্ঠে ধ্বনিত চণ্ডীপাঠ আপামর বাঙালীর মনে আলোড়ন সৃষ্টি করে।
মহালয়ার পবিত্র মুর্মুরে বাতাস ভরে, দেবী দুর্গার আশীর্বাদ আসুক আমাদের উপর, জীবনের চ্যালেঞ্জের মধ্যে আমাদের নির্দেশ করবেন এবং শক্তি এবং ভক্তিতে আমাদের পথ প্রকাশ করবেন।

Shubho Mahalaya

"In the twilight's gentle sway, Mahalaya's whispers start the play,
A symphony of faith and grace, as Durga's might begins the chase."

Mahalaya, the auspicious prelude to Durga Puja, heralds the arrival of the Goddess and the triumph of good over evil, filling the air with anticipation and devotion. This auspicious occasion marks the beginning of the countdown to the grand Durga Puja festivities.

Mahalaya is deeply significant as it marks the start of Devi Paksha (the goddess's time), invoking the powerful goddess Durga and her divine entourage. Mahalaya's resonance lies in its spiritual and cultural importance, uniting Bengalis in their reverence for the goddess and the rich history of Durga Puja.

Mahalaya's history in Durga Puja traces back to the late 16th century when zamindars of Bengal initiated public celebrations. Over the centuries, these festivities grew, evolving into the grand tradition we know today. The captivating radio recitation of Mahishasura Mardini by Birendra Krishna Bhadra from the 1930s further popularized Mahalaya.

As the sacred whispers of Mahalaya fill the air, may Devi Durga's blessings shower upon us, guiding us through life's challenges and illuminating our path with strength and devotion. 🙏

সমস্ত অশুভ শক্তির বিনাশ এবং শুভ শক্তির উন্মোচন ঘটিয়ে মা আবারও আমাদের মাঝে আসছেন সুদীর্ঘ এক বছর প্রতীক্ষার পর। মা দুর্গার সপরিবারে মর্ত্যে আগমন, সমগ্র বাঙালীর কাছে বিশেষ তাৎপর্যের। বাঙালী জাতি এই সময়ে পরিবার পরিজন বন্ধু বান্ধব নিয়ে মেতে ওঠে খুশীর আমেজে।

আশ্বিনের শারদ প্রাতে, দেবী পক্ষের সূচনায়, আসুন এই রবিবার, ১৫ তারিখ (আশ্বিন ২৭, ১৪৩০ বঙ্গাব্দ।) আমরা সবাই NIT Silchar এর প্রাঙ্গণে একত্রিত হয়ে মেতে উঠি এক আনন্দমুখর উৎসবে। ঢাকের তালে কোমর দুলিয়ে, ধুনুচির গন্ধে মন ভরিয়ে সবাই সামিল হই মাতৃ বন্দনায়। মায়ের কাছে আমাদের এই প্রার্থণা - আমাদের জীবন যেন ভরে ওঠে সুখে ও শান্তিতে। মায়ের আশীর্বাদ আমাদের মনে সঞ্চারিত করুক শক্তি। আমরা যেন এগিয়ে যেতে পারি এক সাফল্যমন্ডিত জীবনের পথে।
