CHARUSAT Alumni shines in dance…wins gold medal in a dance exam.
Since ancient times, art and dance has been a way of enacting various emotions and expressions for Indians which led to flourishment of various dance forms in India. But with changing times, youth of today is showing lack of interest and awareness towards these precious and cherished forms of dance moving towards western dance forms. Very few youngsters you will find around yourself who are still passionate and dedicated towards reviving and preserving these ancient forms of dance.
CHARUSAT is proud and fortunate enough to be an educational patron to one such talented youngster who has made both University and her parents proud with her glorious achievement. She is Hani Mayankbhai Shah, ex-student of Indukaka Ipcowala Institute of Management of CHARUSAT University who secured a gold medal and first class in Visharad Exam by Bruhad Gujarat Sangit Samiti.
This achievement is a fruit of her 15 years of strenuous labour and passion. At very tender age Hani started her Kathak training under dance teacher Namrata Shah but left it midway due to busy academic schedules. Her passion was so deep that she took a break from studies and entirely shifted her focus on doing live dance performances. At a very young age she has travelled the country with her dance performances along with programs at Vibrant Gujarat, Ahmedabad and Surat as well as Gopi Carnival and many more. Her riveting performances have been mesmerizing the audience since then. After resuming studies once again and completing MBA, she again followed her heart and passion to go deep in to Kathak. After untiring training and ardour she fulfilled her dream of obtaining a visharad degree in Kathak with gold medal.
Thanking CHARUSAT, Ms. Hani said that, I wish to keep the Indian Culture and art alive across the world through my endeavors. This medal is just the beginning of this journey. I am thankful to CHARUSAT University which gave me an opportunity for encouraging art and culture through various co-curricular and cultural activities and allowing us to see a life beyond academics. CHARUSAT provided me a platform and helped in boosting my confidence and inner strength. Through CHARUSAT I was able to showcase the beauty of our Indian dance to youth.
CHARUSAT University is proud of its student. CHARUSAT University Provost Dr. Pankaj Joshi, along with Registrar Dr. Devang Joshi congratulated Hani Shah and wished her all the best for a glorious future.
