The Final Match of the Nur Uddin Ahmed Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament 2026–27, organised by the Guwahati Sports Association under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association, was played at the ACA Stadium from 16th to 19th May 2026 between Guwahati and NFRSA.

In the Final Match, NFRSA defeated Guwahati by 5 wickets to emerge champions of the tournament

The Closing Ceremony was graced by Romen Dutta as the Chief Guest. Mukutananda Bhattacharjya, Saibal Sengupta, Debabrata Paul and Satya Gopal Chakraborty were present as Guests of Honour.

Among others present on the occasion were Paresh Chandra Das, Sajjad Zaheer Hussain, Kajal Paul Choudhury, Zahirul Haque and Nasir Gul Khan, who distributed the prizes to the players and officials.

The Closing Ceremony of the Rashmi Bala Tamuli GSA β€˜B’ Division Cricket League 2025–26, organised by the Guwahati Sports Association, was held on 13th May 2026 at Judges' Field.

In the final match, Navajyoti Club defeated Maharana Athletic Club by 9 wickets to emerge champions of the tournament. Winning the toss, Navajyoti Club elected to field first. Maharana Athletic Club scored 129/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, Navajyoti Club chased down the target comfortably, scoring 131/1 in 17.4 overs.

Sri Dhruba Jyoti Pathak graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Sri Ganesh Tamuli attended the ceremony as Guest of Honour.

The ceremony was also attended by Sri Paresh Chandra Das, President GSA, Sri Sajjad Zaheer Hussain Joint Secretary GSA,Sri Kajal Paul Choudhury Treasurer GSA, Sri Nasir Gul Khan Sports Secretary, Cricket GSA,and Sri Munin Nobis Chief Executive Officer, GSA
The dignitaries distributed prizes and felicitated the participating teams and players for their performances in the tournament.
The league concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation and showcased promising cricketing talent from across the region.

The Guwahati Sports Association is pleased to announce that the Rashmi Bala Tamuli GSA B Division Cricket League 2025–26 will commence from tomorrow i.e 1st May 2026 at Judges' Field, Guwahati.

A total of eight teams namely Group A- Maharana Athletic Club, Chandmari Sports Club, Navajyoti Club Santipur Athletic Club and Group B- Satgaon Club, Sunrise Athletic Club, River Rine Club, FC Green Valley will participate in the tournament and teams are divided into two groups. Two matches will be played daily during the course of the league.

The opening match of the tournament will be played between Maharana Athletic Club and Chandmari Sports Club.

The Association extends its best wishes to all participating teams for a successful and sporting tournament.

The 68th Foundation Day of the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) was observed with due dignity and solemnity on Saturday, the 25th of April, 2026, at Judges' Field, Guwahati.
The commemorative programme commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the Association’s flag, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony marking the occasion.
On this significant day, the President of the Association, Sri Paresh Chandra Das, conveyed his warm greetings and felicitations to all members of the Guwahati Sports Association. In his address, he paid rich tributes to the former Presidents, Honorary General Secretaries, and all esteemed members of the Association, acknowledging with deep appreciation their invaluable services, unwavering dedication, and significant contributions towards the growth and enduring legacy of the institution.
The observance witnessed the presence of members and well-wishers, reflecting the unity, tradition, and continued commitment of the Association towards the promotion and development of sports.

The 'B' Division Inter Club Clearance / Transfer for Guwahati Sports Association, Cricket Section will be held on 24th April 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and the withdrawal can be done on 25h April 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The interested Cricket players under Guwahati Sports Association are requested to collect the Clearance Form from the Hony. Treasurer, Guwahati Sports Association on payment of Rs. 100/- for each form between 1:00 PM. to 4:00 PM.

Forms will be issued from 23rd April 2026 till 4pm from GSA office, Cricket Pavilion, Judges' Field, Guwahati.

The Players Registration for GSA 'B' Division Cricket League 2025-26 of Guwahati Sports Association will be held on 25th, 26th & 27th April 2026 from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM.

Therefore all the 'B' Division Cricket Clubs affiliated under Guwahati Sports Association are requested to collect the Registration Form from the Hony. Treasurer, GSA on or before 27th April 2026 till 5:00 PM from Guwahati Sports Association office, Cricket Pavilion, Judges' Field, Guwahati.

Outstation players are not allowed to participate in the above said League and players are requested to furnish Aadhaar Card and Voter's Identity Card at the time of registration.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

The Guwahati Sports Association expresses its deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the sudden demise of Sri Gautam Dutta, a dedicated sports organiser who was closely associated with the Association.

Sri Dutta was a valued member of the Guwahati Sports Association. He also served as the Vice President of the Assam Lawn Bowl Association, Executive Member of Dynamo Club, Guwahati, and Secretary of the Kali Puja Committee of Dynamo Club. He was a respected figure in the business community.

A reputed football player in his younger days, he represented Arya Vidyapeeth School in the Subroto Cup, reflecting his passion and talent for the sport.

He passed away today at around 1:30 PM at Nemcare Hospital, Guwahati, at the age of 63.

His immense contributions to sports and society will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.
He is survived by his wife and two sons.
The Association stands in solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time and prays for eternal peace of the departed soul.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

The Guwahati Sports Association expresses its profound grief and deep sorrow at the demise of veteran sports journalist, distinguished sports organiser, and eminent practitioner of folk culture, Sri Sukumar Medhi, who passed away today at around 5:25 AM at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati. He was 60 years old.

Sri Medhi was closely associated with Abhiruchi Sports Day for several years and made exemplary contributions towards the promotion and development of sports in the region. A recipient of the prestigious β€œGuru” title in Kamrupiya folk culture conferred by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, he devoted his life to the preservation and promotion of indigenous cultural heritage.

He was also associated with journalism for many years and earned immense respect for his multifaceted contributions to society.

In addition, he served as the Vice Principal of Saraswati Public Academy, Uparhali, Bijoynagar, where he played a significant role in shaping young minds.

His unwavering dedication, professionalism, and enduring service to both the sporting and cultural fraternity will be remembered with the highest regard.
His passing marks an irreparable loss to society and leaves behind a void that will be difficult to fill.

His legacy and contributions will continue to inspire and will always be remembered with deep respect.

The Guwahati Sports Association extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members in this moment of immense loss and prays for the eternal peace of the departed soul
