Introducing the agendas of the UNCSTD at DAIMUN 2026:
This committee aims to strengthen global cybersecurity cooperation to protect critical infrastructure in an increasingly digital world, address the ethical, regulatory, and equitable implementation of gene editing technologies for sustainable development, and tackle the imbalance in the concentration of AI infrastructure between more and less economically developed countries as a threat to technological sovereignty.

Introducing Vivaan Gupta, Deputy President of UNCSTD at DAIMUN 2026:

If you’ve messaged Vivaan during a cricket match and received no response, don’t take it personally.
At that point, his emotional investment in the game exceeds that of the players themselves. Whether India wins or loses may very well determine the mood of his entire evening.

Patient and logical, Vivaan has a remarkable ability to notice details that everyone else misses. One conversation will tell you why he’s such an exceptional debater. Arguments seem to materialise in his head faster than most people can process them, and before you know it he’s speaking at what feels like 250 words per minute. Somehow, amidst the speed and chaos, it all ends up making perfect sense.

Despite all this, Vivaan is on first-name basis with practically every teacher in the school, including a surprising number who have never taught him. At this point, seeing him stop for a conversation with a random teacher in the corridor is less of a surprise and more of a daily occurrence.

A few things to know about Vivaan:
• He treats desserts the way most people treat vegetables.
• If you need him to remember something, be prepared to remind him. And then remind him again.
• Don’t ask Vivaan about injuries. Your story probably isn’t impressive enough.

When he’s not busy, he’s probably watching shows or following a new sport. More importantly, he’s the person you can count on when things go wrong. Whether it’s a minor inconvenience or a full-scale crash out, Vivaan always knows exactly what to say.

To the members of UNCSTD, you’re in for a committee filled with energy, laughter, honest feedback, and unwavering support. With Vivaan as your Deputy President, you’re guaranteed a committee that’s as insightful as it is enjoyable.

Introducing Lavanya Gupta, President of UNCSTD at DAIMUN 2026:

If there is one person who can somehow switch from discussing the future of artificial intelligence to showing you pictures of chubby babies within the span of five minutes, it’s Lavanya Gupta.

As President of CSTD, she brings the perfect mix of curiosity, warmth, and just the right amount of chaos: a self-proclaimed New Yorker trapped in Mumbai, an avid guitar player, and perhaps the last remaining defender of YouTube Music.

Of course, no introduction to Lavanya would be complete without mentioning a few of her greatest loves:

Naps: To Lavanya, a nap isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. If she could put “scheduled nap break” into the committee agenda, she absolutely would.

Food: The quickest way to earn her affection is through snacks. Any snack. Every snack. A well-fed Lavanya is a happy Lavanya.

Chubby babies: Few things bring her more joy than a picture of a particularly squishy, adorable baby. If you happen to have one on your phone, prepare for an overly enthusiastic reaction. (This is precisely why the Human Rights Council never made it onto her application list.)

TV: If you ever need to find Lavanya, start with Netflix, Prime, or Hotstar. Chances are, she’s midway through a binge and emotionally invested in at least three fictional characters.

Monkeytype: While most people use typing tests to procrastinate, Lavanya uses them to compete with herself. She proudly holds a personal record of 131 words per minute, a statistic she may or may not find a way to mention in casual conversation.

Whether CSTD is debating the ethics of artificial intelligence or simply sharing a laugh between sessions, Lavanya will be there—listening intently, laughing wholeheartedly, and making everyone around her feel welcome. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine willingness to help are what make her not just an exceptional President, but someone you’ll always be glad to have by your side.

Introducing Abhiraj Singh, Deputy President of UNCSTD at DAIMUN 2026:

You’re sitting in Physics, desperately trying to figure out what on earth is happening. Your head is a complete jumble. Then you see it, hand slowly rising from the back of the classroom. Panic spreads. Everyone starts screaming, trying to stop it, but it’s already too late. It’s none other than Abhiraj himself.

Always asking questions that absolutely nobody knows the answer to, both teachers and students live in fear of the moment his hand goes up.

When not terrorising the class Abhiraj is recognisable by his beautiful handwriting and seemingly endless assortment of Muji pens.

Tutor time is never complete without someone yelling at Abhiraj to shut your tiffin box or more accurately, someone else’s tiffin box that he’s somehow managed to open.
Built like an emoji, Abhiraj is basically the human embodiment of the 😀. Parents never have to worry when he’s around. His permanent smile, even before an exam, is something to be both admired and feared.

He’s the biggest Gossip Girl DAIS has ever seen, despite not having watched the show, or any others as a matter of fact, he’s updated on all the latest news (drama or otherwise).

Abhiraj is one of the sweetest, smartest, and undoubtedly most interesting people you’ll ever meet. Delegates, better check your sources twice because when Abhiraj’s hand goes up ur in trouble.

Introducing Rishaan Shah, Deputy President of NATO at DAIMUN 2026:

“The greatest weapon is not the one that fires the loudest, but the one that makes the other side surrender.”

This philosophy has served Rishaan well, primarily because he has spent most of his life perfecting the art of arguing until the other person either concedes or physically leaves the room.

Rishaan is the kind of person who always has an opinion and, more importantly, is absolutely convinced that it is the correct one. Whether it’s Business, Economics, MUN, or an argument about something that genuinely does not matter, Rishaan will somehow find a way to build a case for it. Whether you asked for that argument, however, is largely irrelevant.

His interest in finance extends beyond the classroom through Teen Money, his very own podcast dedicated to making financial literacy accessible to young people. It’s genuinely impressive, although asking him one simple question about budgeting may somehow turn into a three hour lecture on financial literacy.

But perhaps the best way to understand Rishaan is through his true calling: Clash Royale . When he isn’t arguing about economic policy or preparing for MUN, you’ll probably find him playing with the dedication of someone whose life depends on getting one more trophy. Just be prepared to lose.

His music taste, however, is a fascinating contradiction. For someone who argues like a central banker, his playlist sounds like it was curated by a teenage girl named Emily with seventeen tote bags.

But on a serious note, Rishaan knows how to keep a room engaged. As Deputy President of NATO, delegates can expect him to know his stuff and, more importantly, make sure everyone gets their voice heard. Whether you’re negotiating a resolution, arguing over a clause, or debating the best Clash Royale strategy, one thing is certain: Rishaan will have an opinion.
