Growing up in Kenya, Nzambi Matee was deeply concerned by the growing plastic waste problem in her community. In 2017, she left her job as a data analyst to focus on finding a solution.

Working from a small laboratory in her mother's backyard, she spent nearly a year testing different plastic-to-sand ratios. In 2018, she developed her first brick from plastic waste, and in 2019, she built her own machine to scale production.

That idea became Gjenge Makers, a social enterprise that transforms discarded plastic into affordable construction materials. Inspired by the plastic waste scattered across Nairobi, Nzambi and her team developed paving blocks made from recycled plastic that are stronger than conventional concrete alternatives.

Today, Gjenge Makers has recycled over 200,000 kilograms of plastic waste and created more than 600 jobs for women, youth groups, and waste collectors showing how sustainability can drive both environmental and social impact.

Recognized globally for her innovation, Nzambi was named a Young Champion of the Earth and continues to inspire sustainable solutions that turn waste into value.

What if plastic waste wasn't a problem to solve but a livelihood to protect?

Plastics For Change has spent years building supply chains that do both: keeping plastic out of landfills and putting fair income into the hands of waste collectors.

At RACE 2026, they're bringing that model to India's biggest stage for circular economy innovation.

📱 What if we told you that your old phone could contain more value than you think ?

Most people see a broken or outdated smartphone as waste. The recycling industry sees it as a source of gold, silver, cobalt, palladium, and other critical materials that can be recovered and reused.

This is where electronic recycling becomes crucial.

Instead of extracting new resources from the earth through mining, recyclers can recover valuable materials from discarded devices through a process called urban mining. This helps reduce e-waste, conserve natural resources, lower environmental impact, and support a more circular economy.

Yet millions of old phones remain forgotten in drawers or end up in landfills every year.

♻️ Recycling your old electronics isn't just about reducing waste it is about giving valuable materials a second life.

Your old phone isn't trash. It is a resource waiting to be recovered.

💬 How many old phones are sitting in your drawer right now ? Let us know in the comments.

What if the plastic waste we ignore today becomes the sustainable product we rely on tomorrow ? 🌍♻️

Brands across the world are transforming recycled plastic into durable, stylish bags turning waste into innovation.

Global names like Patagonia, Prada, Adidas, and Nike are already leading the shift. And in India, brands like Baggit, Zouk, EcoRight, are proving that sustainability and smart design can go hand in hand.

Every recycled bag represents something bigger:
Less waste in landfills.
More value from recycling.
A stronger step toward a circular economy.

Sustainability is no longer just a conversation
it’s becoming the future of manufacturing, packaging, and consumer products.
