If Shastrarth has a safety net, it’s basically just Abhinav Agarwal. The man, the myth, the reality. As the college CR, he’s always been the one-stop shop between students and teachers. He somehow manages to keep everyone on the same page, and if you ask him how he handles all that pressure, he’ll probably just laugh it off.
When you see Shas running smoothly on the big day, it’s probably because Abhinav is somewhere in the background, reasoning with a vendor or getting permission from the guards. He takes on all the chaos so the rest of us don’t have to panic. Every little hiccup that could have stopped the event in its tracks? His jugaadu skills made sure they were sorted out before most of us even realized there was a problem to begin with.
It’s rare to find someone who can carry the weight of an entire event and make it look this easy. We didn’t just need a Chairperson; we needed someone who would stand with us and help us. We needed an Abhinav. Looking back at the late nights and the moments we almost lost our minds, it’s hard to imagine getting through any of it without him there to reassure us. We are so lucky we had him. So, to the guy who gave so much of himself, and who made saving the day look like just another Tuesday; Shastrarth owes you one.

Astha
If Shastrarth has a mind, it thinks like Astha; and if it has a spine, it probably borrows hers. Astha has been a part of Shas for long enough that it’s difficult to imagine what it looked like before her. The smartest person you know, and with an opinion on everything, although most of the topics are probably “lopsided” or “too saturated” for her to deign us with an opinion on anyways. You never quite understand how she manages to do it all- and if you ask her, you probably won’t get a straight answer either.

An Asiad microcelebrity in her own right- under the immense perfectionism and hyper competence, lies a person deeply emotional- and one of the only people who understands and sees Shastrarth the way most can’t. On-day Shas is a sight to behold, but much of it is because of Astha’s stress walks across the 3rd floor of BSc Economics, thinking everything through way before anyone would realise it needed thinking. She sees both the bigger picture and the smallest details, and somehow manages to care about both equally- and in doing so, she makes the people around her care more too.

It has been more than a privilege to be part of the vision and meaning that Shastrarth holds for Astha. If Shas has felt like something more than just work, more than just another college commitment, a large part of that feeling traces back to her. And while Shas will continue, as it always does, it will carry a version of her with it- in the way things are done, in the way people think, in the debate formats she was always behind us about, the standards we will never quite meet again, and in the reassurance that things, will always, work out.

Ethos’ Mentors:

Yuvraj is the one person in SAMSOE you can count on for literally anything. No matter the department or the situation, he always seems to have a solution and when things get tough, he’s someone who stands tall and keeps things steady.
What really sets him apart is how effortlessly he balances it all. He’s one of the brightest in the room, yet easily the wittiest- someone who brings both sharp thinking and an unmatched sense of humor. And when it’s time to unwind, he’s just as present, the ultimate party animal who knows how to live it up.
His love for Shas is undeniable. He’s driven, dedicated, and once he sets his mind to something, he follows through with complete commitment. He puts his heart into everything he does, and it shows.
Someone who will always stand by you, support you, guide you and somehow still make everything feel lighter with a joke, Yuvraj is truly one of a kind.

Anvi is the kind of person everyone hopes to have in their corner. The go-to for anything admin related in SAMSOE, she handles everything with patience, efficiency, and a calm that makes chaos feel manageable. She’s always there for you, no matter what.
Her love for Shas truly stands out, and so does the way she leads. She creates a space people genuinely enjoy being part of, and everyone who works with her loves working with her and that says everything.
She balances it all effortlessly- late-night dancing and still showing up for you in the morning. Always up for a plan, especially if fries are involved.
Genuine, dependable, and truly irreplaceable, Anvi is someone we’ll really miss having around.

Logos’ Mentors:

Riya walks in and the room just feels better. She somehow makes the most ridiculous jokes land, says yes to plans people would usually overthink, and still manages to actually show up. Her schedule never really seems to stop her; she squeezes things in and catches details in work that most people skip past. When she takes something on, she doesn’t half do it. She figures it out, gets good at it fast, and moves on like it was nothing. And just when you think you’ve figured her out, she surprises you. She is an insanely good dancer, a sharp debater, and a strong athlete, and never makes a big deal about it. She is also the person who will pick up a 3 AM call without hesitation and show up when you need her, every single time.

If there’s one person who has been truly irreplaceable in this journey, it’s Hitaishi. Through every high and low, she has been steady, reliable, and always ready to take charge, making even the most chaotic moments feel lighter. What sets her apart is not just her dedication and capability as a mentor, but the warmth and ease with which she connects with people, someone you can rely on for honest advice, unwavering support, or just a laugh when you need it most. Determined, energetic, and (briefly) sweet, perhaps powered by her love for brownies, Hitaishi brings a rare mix of passion and people-first leadership.

Pathos’ Mentors:
The first thing that you’ll notice about Kavya is her laugh but the more you get to know her, the more you’ll realise how sweet of a person she is. You’ll never see her at any of the SAMSOE sport events but you can always count on finding her at Bandstand; she will always be running late, be it to staybacks or lectures or even for getting this photo clicked but you can always count on her for being there whenever you need to rant about how dumb this college is. I have had the misfortune of knowing her for only 2 years in this college, but those 2 years have been tolerable only because of her, cause without her I would not have become what I am today. No matter how many “arey yaaaar”s it took, she always supported my stupid ideas, she stood by my side and she always helped me, be it for fests or for assignments.
Shastrarth will be incomplete without her, but, more importantly, my college life will be incomplete without her.

If you see him alone he’s probably tapping on the nearest surface, SAMSOE’s very own mridangam virtuoso. Always one with a joke at hand, he is everyone’s friend, and one of the few people you can say is truly adored by everyone.
Chaitanya has been a part of RnD since his first sem, although ofcourse his intellectual successes in RnD have not really translated into his love life. Be it a metaphysical debate, an existential spiral, advaita philosophy, a musing on life, or just to vent out, he’d always be your man. The other day on call, he casually dropped- “Life is too small to think about everyone else”- very on brand on how he offers his two cents as if it were second nature.
Although a part of it only since his second year, suffice to say, RnD and its subsequent products, would be nothing without Chaitanya and his ADHD. Which is precisely why, now that the Chaitanaya Harikrishna glaze is over, the author is going to excuse herself to figure out what to do with RnD, and life at SAMSOE, without him next year.
Truly congratulations to us for having him.

Convenor Ethos:

As an ethos convenor, nitya was truly one of a kind, the sweetest and most approachable person, always walking into the stayback room with her energy and that beautiful smile. she became everyone’s go-to without even trying, and honestly, nobody understands the participation department the way she does. she just has a way of making things fall into place and the way she works looks so effortless, but behind it is the amount of heart and soul she poured into ethos, and it shows in everything she’s been a part of.

nitya is the most hardworking and passionate person, whatever she does, she does with her whole heart. and as a friend? she’s the one you call for literally everything in samsoe. timetable confusion, life crisis, outfit check, random rant, she’s already on it.

she’s the softest, most caring soul but also the bubbliest, most fun person to be around. she has this way of making people feel comfortable instantly, like you’ve known her forever. always down for plans (especially if they involve food), and somehow she turns even the most random hangouts into the best memories.

a loyal splitsvilla watcher, a sucker for sappy rom-coms, and somehow she still gives the most sensible, grounded advice when you need it the most. nitya is the most reliable, trustworthy, “i’ve got you no matter what” kind of person you’ll ever meet, she’ll always show up for you, no questions asked. she celebrates your highs like her own and stands by you through everything else.
and basically, if you have nitya on your team, you’re not just sorted, you’re lucky 🤍

Convenor Logos:

When you first talk to Jahnavi, the question that first comes to your mind is “damn where does she get that energy from?”. Catch her in class playing games on messenger or reading books. In short, anything but studying. One of the kindest souls, she makes sure no one ever feels left out in any conversation. No matter how many tasks are piled up, when you look at Jahnavi, all panicky, all she says in her calm voice is “ho jayega”. Aur ho bhi jaata hai. One has no idea when she does all the work, but it’s somehow complete before every deadline. And you end up hearing the most nonchalant “ho gya”. She took the responsibility of convenor in the best way possible, and made sure the 3 departments she was heading left no stone unturned. She was the life of every stayback the one who could instantly lift the mood and make even the most exhausting work sessions feel manageable. She had such a natural bond with every cm, and you could see how comfortable everyone felt around her. No matter how chaotic things got judges cancelling at the last minute, sponsors pulling out, or the madness at on day stalls she somehow stayed calm and handled it all like it was just another task on her checklist.

Convenor Pathos:

Shastrarth’25 would not have existed without Aayushi; Aayushi could not have survived college without Shastrarth’25.
If there is anyone who understands Shastrarth to its core and carries its legacy then that is Aayushi Jha. She has been the backbone of not just Pathos but of the entire fest - from the smallest things like always asking every CM if they’re doing fine to the most important parts like moderating the finals, she has done it all. You’ll always find her sitting cross-legged, with her performative wired earphones dangling out of her pockets, on a table (please don’t tell Mandaar bhaiya) in one of the rooms, talking to someone with the utmost lock in on her face (which is a pretence btw, she is not listening to you unless you are talking about socialism, crosswords, or anything related to kids’ cartoons and novels). To get her attention, you just have to pretend to be stressed cause then she will look at you sympathetically and ask, “kya hua baba? sab theek hojayega” and then she’ll proceed to help you but soon you’ll realise that her technical incapabilities surpass everything good about her.

But jokes apart, Aayushi is the sweetest, most caring and comforting person you will ever meet. Despite forgetting to reply to your rants on WhatsApp, she’ll always listen to them in person while walking around the corridors of the 3rd floor. Her knowledge on almost everything and everyone that has ever touched this planet will never fail to leave you in awe. But don’t let her nerdy-ness fool you cause she will be found having conversations about said topics at Asiad while on her second brocade.

Her work ethic, her need for perfectionism, her altruism (which is also just disguised perfectionism btw, she just wants to fix everything), all of it makes her the best person to work with and the best friend to have in college.

Convenor Ethos

Saachi- our in-house gundi with the softest heart.

The first thing you notice about her? She’s completely upfront. No sugarcoating, no filters. She says what she feels and feels what she says. She knows exactly how to get things done, and trust me, if she’s told you to finish something… you will finish it.

But beneath that stern, “don’t test me” exterior is someone incredibly raw and genuine. She wears her heart on her sleeve, never fakes a smile, never hides her emotions, and will go miles, actually miles for the people she cares about. She loves deeply, stands up strongly for her people, and gives her absolute best in everything she does.

As the Ethos Convenor, she led this entire vertical with so much commitment and sincerity. She’s that perfect balance of a leader you’re slightly scared of (so you don’t miss your deadlines) but also the first person you run to when something goes wrong. And somehow, she always figures it out. Every crisis, every last-minute panic was handled with calm, professionalism, and that signature Saachi confidence.

She sets the standard high, but she also makes sure no one feels alone while trying to reach it. Shastrarth has always meant more than just a fest to her - it’s something she truly cares about. The amount of effort she has put in, the endless late nights, the tough decisions, and even the quiet moments where she made sure everyone and everything was okay, it all speaks for itself. There genuinely couldn’t have been anyone better to do this than her.

Introducing Utkarsh, quite literally the most hardworking person in samsoe. he’s somehow everywhere at once, juggling a hundred things and still giving each of them his full effort. the dedication he has towards shas (and everything else he takes up) is unmatched- it’s genuinely impressive how he manages it all.
he may come off as a tough guy because he’s the technicals goat, but he’s actually a softie at heart. he cares deeply about his people, is fiercely loyal, and is the kind of person you can call at 2am and know he’ll pick up.
a full-time f1 and cricket enthusiast, proudly worshipping Kohli and Verstappen- and carrying that same passion and aggression into everything he does. in his free time, you’ll either find him tracking the stock market or enjoying his roz ka chai.
truly an all-rounder in every sense- technical genius, dependable teammate, silent supporter, and someone who shows up consistently, no matter what’s going on.

samsoe runs a little smoother because utkarsh is around 🤍
