Earlier known by the name of SPOCULIT which was an amalgamation of Sports-Culture-Literature events, Aavahan, started in the year 2014 by NLU-Lucknow, is one of the biggest and the most prominent of inter-university sports fest for the legal fraternity of our nation. Aavahan was initiated by the enthusiastic students of NLU-Lucknow in an attempt to create a three day adrenaline expedition for the
budding lawyers and other students all across India to help them explore and find their niche in sports. We wish that the law students in all competing universities, and other universities in India to revive and relive their childhood passion and the purest of their competitive instincts. We also want to acknowledge the utility of sports in the life of a student, its positive impact on the personality of a student. After successfully organising it since the past two years, and years before that under the banner SPOCULIT, we wish to direct our efforts to increase the participation base of our event and create an atmosphere of interaction and engagement between students across India pursuing different dreams. A determined attempt is also made to re-orient every past thing and bring in additional improvements so as to make it even bigger, even better. The past events witnessed a huge count of participation from not just law schools but also students pursuing engineering, art and other disciplines all around the nation. More than 400 students participated in the first edition of Aavahan and this number increased to 600 in the second edition. This exponential increase in the participation in Aavahan is bound to continue this year. We are expecting a over a thousand students this time from all over the country. There are going to be engrossing events for in football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, athletics, chess and many more events.
