ELIXIR 2k16
Make your own magic!!!
The Department of English, Marian College Kuttikkanam presents Elixir’16, an inter-collegiate literary-cultural fest on August 31, 2016.We cordially invite students who have literary, journalistic inclinations.
General Rules
1. All the participants must bring their college ID cards
2. Registration closes at 10 a.m. 31st August 2016.
3. A participant can compete in a maximum of 2 events.
4. Entries for photography must be submitted online before 29th August 2016.
5. The College team which wins maximum points will be awarded Ever-Rolling Trophy instituted by Elixir.
Events include:
1. The Duel for truth
Bring truth to the light
• A team of 2 members.
• It consists of three rounds:
1. News presentation – A video clip and necessary information will be given and the group will have to present it as a news item.
2. Debate
3. Mock press – One of the team members will have to mock the chosen personality while the other will have to interview the person mocked.
• Selection will be done after each round.
• Registration fee- Rs.200
• First Prize-Rs 5000
• Second Prize-Rs.2000
2. Battle of the books
Can you read and make the audience spellbound? Then here is your stage, make the magic.
• A passage will be given and the competitors will have to read it.
• Individual event
• Registration fee-100
• First prize-Rs.3000
• Second Prize-Rs.2000
3.Ink and the soul
Make a magical world out of the ink
• An art of creating short story from vivid images
• A team of two members.
• Registration fee-200
• First Prize-Rs.3000
• Second Prize-Rs.2000
4. Follow the bread crumbs
Literary treasure hunt.
• A team of minimum 3-maximum 5 members
• Hints will be based on literature.
• The treasure and a cash prize of Rs.5000 will be awarded to the first winning team.
• Registration fee-200
5. Battle of wits
Unleash your magical quick wit
Literary quiz
• A team of two members.
• First Prize- Rs.3500
• Second Prize- Rs.2000
• Registration fee-200
6. Shut the aperture
Capture the moments in your magical way.
• Online photography competition
