Rules and regulations

Rotation is not to be followed necessarily therefore there is no strict rule for libero( a team may undergo rotation but falling to do the same, would not award any point to the opponent)

Here are the fundamental, must-know rules of a volleyball

game:

1)Only 6 players are allowed on the floor at any given time. Points are made on every serve for the winning team of the rally (rally-point scoring).

2) Players may not hit the ball twice in succession (a block is not considered a hit).

3)Ball may be played off the net during a volley and on a serve.

4)A ball hitting a boundary line is in.

A ball is out if it hits an antennae, the floor completely outside the court, any of the net or cables outside the antennae, the referee stand or pole, or the ceiling above a non-playable area.

5)It is legal to touch the ball with any body part.

6)It is illegal to catch, hold or throw the ball.

7) Matches are made up of sets, the number depends on the level of play.

8)Stepping on or across the service line when serving while making contact with the ball or failure to serve the ball over the net successfully would award point to the opponent. The ball must be tossed before the serve.

9)Ball-handling errors and contacting the ball illegally (double touching, lifting, carrying, throwing, etc.) is considered illegal

10) During an attack hit, a player is permitted to pass his/her hand beyond the net, provided that the initial contact has been made within his/her own playing space, and the ball is not caught or thrown.

11) Crossing the court centerline with any part of your body, with the exception of a hand or foot is illegal. It is only considered a violation if the entire hand or entire foot crosses the court centerline.

12) During the game, the decision of the referee is final in case of any confusion.

The first tier matches will be of knock-out format. Three set matches will be played. If a team wins the first two sets, then the next set will not be played.

In case of tie for next stage

The point system to be followed is as follows

2-0 win-3points

2-1 win-2 points

0 points for losing a set.

Eligibility

i) Number of Players in Each Team =7+2

ii) Weight Category of Each Team-Total Players-650kg

iii) Total weight of each team will be verified by the Event Coordinators prior to any match.

iv) Entry fee 400(Per Team)

v) Substitutions must be notified to coordinators prior to any match to maintain the weight category.

Rules & Regulations

1) Each team must remain & pull inside the designated court area, and going outside the court area will result in Disqualification.

2) Intentional lying or sitting on the ground during a match will result in a foul. Accidental falling down is spares

3)No sudden jerking (whipping the rope)

4) Coordinator's decision will be final

Match Format

i) Total of 3 rounds per match with switching of sides

ii) Captains of each team will choose sides by coin-based toss
