The Nominations for the post of Dulhan'22 are out.

The rules for nomination of Dulhan are:

1. All nominations will be accepted only through the attached google form- https://forms.gle/LvVmL8LWRepFW3BV8

2. You can nominate one, and only one Hall 1 resident for the post.

3. Whoever wins the maximum number of nominations, will be qualified for the post of Dulhan'22.
In case they back out, the person with second highest nominations will be made the Dulhan.

4. Deadline of filling the nominations: 7pm, 8 May 22.

Rules: 1. You can only nominate a Hall 1 male resident for the post of the Dulhan'22. 2. Whoever recieved the maximum number of nomination will be qualified to hold the position of Dulhan'22. 3. The deadline to fill the form is 7pm, 8 May '22.

[ DULHA NOMINATIONS ARE OUT, LET THE COMMENTING BEGIN! ]
These are the rules for the Dulha selection process :

Rule 1:
Only 4th students (male or female) can propose another 4th year Hall 1 resident male for the Dulha. Those on facebook can nominate the Dulha in comments, those not on facebook will nominate using a circulated (attached herewith) google form.

Rule 2:

People tagged in the comments and nominated in the form, till midnight will move on to the next round of selection which will involve polling over the shortlisted candidates.

Rule 3:

Among the top 4 nominated, the person winning the maximum demand within the peers will straight away proceed to become the Dulha.

Rule 4:

Contestants will get the opportunity to publicize themselves through a matrimonial video which will be posted via the page. For reference check the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21X41ZgbGio&feature=share

They can prepare a script of their own, or else the organizing team will provide one to them.

Rule 6:
The Dulhan holds the Veto to reject the Dulha at any stage of the marriage, even during the pheres. But she has to marry the second proposer in line as per the battle.

Okay, well, here it is...
A week has passed since it happened and also since you heard from us. Believe it or not, we are as much surprised about what the hell happened as you were, on the eve of baarat. Apart from all the tireless efforts of the team to execute the plans, there was something else that allowed us to do so. The people were skeptic, the same people who used to reminisce about the glory days of IITK ki bakaiti during their time. Others were disappointed by how the hype created an year ago left them doubting if this is actually achievable.
It was when Dulha sat on his ride and said, "Saalo, tum logo ne kara hi di baarat! ", followed by seeing the awestruck faces of the people on the sidewalks, the sis guard bhaiya who looked at something they recalled they had seen before but not expected to see again, and even the faculties smiling at us dance to the beats while we gave them way, and several other moments made us realize what this event means to the campus.
The baarat has been infamous for various reasons, but we don't know why it was discontinued. The very fact that this could happen again, implies that there are ways beyond prohibition. There are ways following which things can be improved. There are ways to make infamous events like Hall 1 ki baarat inclusive for each community member. And things just fall into place, and it sure does paint a pretty picture. Check the photos and videos in the folder :)

Apart from all the things that worked out, here are couple of things that didn't for which we apologize:
1. We regret that most of those who wanted to witness the marriage ceremony, couldn't be allowed inside Hall VI.
2. We missed out on assigning a wedding photographer for the couple, but if you have sufficient pictures of the bride and groom with you, share it to the folder.
