Seedfest Since 2012, Fair Trade Alliance Kerala has been conducting the Seed Festival under the overarching theme of Seed Swaraj. will take place on the sidelines.

Our 11th Seed Festival in January 2025 will mark the beginning of FTAK’s 20th year and is focused on resilience and regeneration. Fair Trade Alliance Kerala organizes Seedfest, the largest display of Indigenous seeds and domestic animals, every year in the month of January in Northern Kerala. The organisation has embarked on the initiative under the firm belief that it can recapture the food secur

ity of the farming households and community only if it can achieve seed swaraj in its truest sense. The seed festival is envisaged as a focused effort at displaying, exchanging and preserving all sorts of seeds, planting material, indigenous livestock, medicinal plants, indigenous and wild trees, etc. It will be a venue for the sharing of experiences and knowledge related to preservation and propagation of indigenous seeds. Various seminars, agro instruments expo, cultural events, etc. While the effort will be lead by 4500 farmers of FTAK, it is visualized as an inclusive initiative that will be embraced by the sensitive farming community in the Malabar region of Kerala.
