Junnar Durgotsav is an event organised by Junnar Tourism Helpdesk in collaboration with Swarajya Paryatan Sanwardhan Sanstha Junnar and Shivaji Trail in the betterment of Junnar tourism.
This is a series of 7 trekking events which covers the 7 historic forts of Junnar. This event involves दुर्ग वाचन or Heritage walk of the forts.
The event’s sixth fort was Sindola Fort. Sindola Fort dates back to similar times of Nimgiri and Hadsar. This fort was used as a watchtower as it offers a complete view of Malshej Ghat, Pargaon village and other famous forts.
We started our heritage walk at 8:00 AM. The heritage walk of Prasannagadh Fort finished at 1:00 PM. Mr. Vinayak Khot, Mr. Millind Kshirsagar, Mr. Kiran Kabadi, Mr. Sham Gorde, Mr. Girish Poipkar and Mr. Nimbalkar were present for the closing ceremony. Every Participant received a Durgotsav medal. With a promise of meeting on next Sunday for Jivdhan Fort Trek, everyone said their goodbyes.

Junnar Durgotsav is an event organised by Junnar Tourism Helpdesk in collaboration with Swarajya Paryatan Sanwardhan Sanstha Junnar and Shivaji Trail in the betterment of Junnar tourism.
This is a series of 7 trekking events which covers the 7 historic forts of Junnar. This event involves दुर्ग वाचन or Heritage walk of the forts.
The event’s fifth fort was Hadsar Fort. Hadsar Fort, also known as Parvatgad, was constructed during the Satvaahanas and was heavily inhabited during that period. It was meant for protection of the ancient commercial trade route from Mawal region to Kalyan via Naneghat. There is a marvelous sculpture design of the bastion and the fort entrance, which is not seen elsewhere. They are all carved from a single rock.
We started our heritage walk at 8:00 AM. The heritage walk of Prasannagadh Fort finished at 1:00 PM. Mr. Vinayak Khot, Mr. Millind Kshirsagar, Mr. Kiran Kabadi, Mr. Maruti Jadhav, Mr. Girish Poipkar and Mr. Vilasrao Kank Sardar, descendent of the great maratha warrior Yesaji Kank, were present for the closing ceremony. Every Participant received a Durgotsav medal. With a promise of meeting on next Sunday for Sindola Fort Trek, everyone said their goodbyes.

This is a series of 7 trekking events which covers the 7 historic forts of Junnar. This event involves दुर्ग वाचन or Heritage walk of the forts.
The event’s fourth fort was Prasannagadh Fort. Prasannagadh, formerly called Chavand Fort, was renamed by the great Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his reign. It was once a prison during the Maratha era. The fort has remnants of construction that are more than 800 years old. The fort was looted and destroyed by the British upon siege.
We started our heritage walk at 8:00 AM. The heritage walk of Prasannagadh Fort finished at 1:00 PM. Mr. Vinayak Khot, Mr. Millind Kshirsagar, Mr. Girish Poipkar and Mr. Jadhavrao were present for the closing ceremony. Every Participant received a Durgotsav medal. With a promise of meeting on next Sunday for Hadsar Fort Trek, everyone said their goodbyes.

This is a series of 7 trekking events which covers the 7 historic forts of Junnar. This event involves दुर्ग वाचन or Heritage walk of the forts.
The event’s third fort was Narayangadh Fort. Narayangadh is said to have been rebuilt by the first Peshwa Balaji Vishvanath (1714-1720) and given in saranjam or service-grant to Sayaji Povar. In the last Maratha war of 1818 Narayangad is said to have surrendered to the British in 1818 .
We started our heritage walk at 8:00 AM. This Heritage walk involved Shivaji Trail’s 27 year old tradition, Durg Pooja; which involves pooja of all the key highlights for the Durg (Fort). The heritage walk of Narayangadh Fort finished at 1:00 PM. Mr. Kiran Kabadi, Mr. Vinayak Khot, Mr. Millind Kshirsagar, Mr. Pravin Parulekar and Mr. Dhananjay Kulkarni were present for the closing ceremony. Every Participant received a Durgotsav medal. With a promise of meeting on next Sunday for Prasannagadh Fort Trek, everyone said their goodbyes.

This is a series of 7 trekking events which covers the 7 historic forts of Junnar. This event involves दुर्ग वाचन or Heritage walk of the forts.
The event’s second fort was Nimgiri-Hanumantgadh Fort. Nimgiri-Hanumantgad are known for their rock-cut stairs. The two forts have been separated by a cleft. The ascend to the forts starts from the middle of these two. One will come across broken patches of farms and can see a beautiful idol and remains of a temple. Ahead of that, one can come across many idols and Veerghals and some scriptures carved on stones.
We started our heritage walk at 8:00 AM, lead by Amar Gaikwad. The heritage walk of Nimgiri Fort finished at 1:00 PM. Mr. Kiran Kabadi, Mr. Maruti Jadhav, and Mr. Vinayak Khot were present for the closing ceremony. Every Participant received a Durgotsav medal. With a promise of meeting on next Sunday for Narayangadh Fort Trek, everyone said their goodbyes.

This is a series of 7 trekking events which covers the 7 historic forts of Junnar. This event involves दुर्ग वाचन or Heritage walk of the forts.
The event started from Shivneri Fort on the first Sunday, February 05, 2023. As decided, everyone gathered at the foothills of Shivneri fort at 7:30 AM and we started our heritage walk at 8:00 AM, lead by Shivneri Bhushan Vinayak Khot Sir and Shivaji Trail’s Praveen Parulekar Sir, Sujata Kshirsagar, Amar Gaikwad, Ravi Gaikwad , Shlok Kabadi were present. Along with them, Descendants of a Sardar Family, Mr Prithviraj Singh Ghadge lifted the sprit of our trekkers with his presence. The heritage walk of Shivneri Fort finished at 1:00 PM. Every Participant received a Durgotsav Tshirt along with a medal. With a promise of meeting on next Sunday for Nimgiri Fort Trek, everyone said their goodbyes.
