3rd Olympian Varinder Singh 5A Side Women's Hockey Tournament
Round Glass LKC W Jalandhar defeated Khalsa Academy Amritsar 7-6 to win the title
Jalandhar, April 5 ( ) Round Glass LKC W Jalandhar defeated Khalsa Academy Amritsar 7-6 after a tough match to win the 3rd Olympian Varinder Singh 5A Side Women's Hockey Tournament. Jalandhar defeated Lyallpur Girls 11-10 to win the third position. The winners of the tournament held at the Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women Hockey Ground in Jalandhar were distributed by Olympian Mukhbain Singh, the partner of Olympian Varinder Singh. The winning team was given a trophy along with Rs. 21000 in cash and hockey sticks by Alpha Hockey. While the runner-up team was awarded with a runner-up trophy, Rs. 15000 in cash and Alpha hockey sticks. While the third-placed team from Jalandhar was awarded with a third-place trophy, Rs. 10000 in cash and T-shirts. Savina Rani of Round Glass LKC W Jalandhar was declared the best player of the tournament and was awarded Rs. 5100 and an Alpha hockey stick. Mahima of Khalsa Academy Amritsar was declared the best scorer of the tournament and was awarded Rs. 3100 in cash and an Alpha hockey stick. While Kirandeep Kaur of LKCW Jalandhar was declared the best goalkeeper. She was awarded Rs. 3100 and an Alpha hockey stick. On this occasion, Mrs. Manjit Kaur, wife of Olympian Varinder Singh, was specially honored. During the tournament, the doctors of DAV Physiotherapy Institute provided the best services.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Olympian Mukhbain Singh said that he has spent 37 years of his life with Olympian Varinder Singh and he has always considered Varinder Singh as his younger brother and he has a close relationship with this family.
During today's final match, Olympian Sanjeev Kumar, Gundeep Singh Kapoor, international players Ram Saran, Dharampal, Satpal Singh Munshi, Barinder Singh Sian. Gurminder Singh, Gurjit Singh President Sports Club Dhanowali, Ravinder Singh Lali, Olympian Varinder Singh's son Gurpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Inderjit Singh former railway player, Kuldeep Kaur, Megha, Professor Maninder Kaur, Kulbir Singh, Parminder Kaur and many other sports lovers were present.
