Beat The Market Beat The Market is a trading simulation event by Voyage Capital, the Investment and Equity research Club, under IRIS, the management fest of IIM-I.

Welcome to Beat The Market, IIM Indore’s premier stock market simulation event conducted by Voyage Capital, the in-house investment club of IIM Indore – the event

will create a real world stock market experience and allow participants to gauge their trading skills, knowledge, reactiveness, intuition, guts and temperament. Beat The Market (BTM) is a national competition under IRIS, management festival of IIM Indore. The event got response from over 800 participants last year, representing top B-schools across the country. Participants will compete with the best of minds across top campuses in a real world, show their trading skills and try to outsmart the street. The first round of our event will be conducted today (24 October) at 9:30 PM. Follow the below link for quiz:

The layout of the event is as follows:
Round 1 (Oct 24, 2018): Quiz to test participants’ general awareness and working knowledge of the stock market

Round 2 (Oct 26-Nov 5, 2018): Stock/IPO Recommendation to test participants’ ability to recommend buying/selling a stock/IPO based on technical and fundamental analysis

Round 3 (Nov 12-16, 2018): 5-Day Trading Simulation on virtual platform to test who can beat the market.

Please note that no round involves elimination of any participating team. Weightage has been allotted to each round as follows:

Quiz: 20%

Stock Recommendation: 30%

Trading: 50%

Weightages will be calculated on the normalized scores of the teams.

The event provides a litmus test of the participants’ ability to challenge the real markets scenario by gauging their knowledge, skills, guts, intuition, reactiveness and temperament. The elements of the event push an aspiring trader through the rounds of fundamental as well as technical assessment based on stock picks to live-trading, before declaring the true winner.
