Shillong: Assam Women's Team Wins Title, Men's Team Settles for Runner-Up in 2nd East Zone Senior National Roll Ball Championship. In the two-day tournament organized by the Meghalaya Roll Ball Association at Shillong Polo Ground on April 24 and 25.
Assam's women's team dominated. They defeated Chhattisgarh 7-1, West Bengal 4-1, Jharkhand 7-2, and Meghalaya 5-0 in the league stage. In the semi-final, they beat Meghalaya again 6-4, then clinched the title by defeating Jharkhand 3-0 in the final.
Meanwhile, in the men's category, Assam overcame Meghalaya and West Bengal to reach the semi-final, where they beat Odisha 6-3. However, they finished as runners-up after losing to Jharkhand 3-6 in the final.

Morigaon Achieves a Treble

Guwahati: Morigaon secured a remarkable treble at the 6th Super Mini and 9th Sub-Junior Inter-District Roll Ball Championship. The two-day tournament, organized by the Guwahati Roll Ball Association, was held at Rudra Singha Roll Ball Ground, Dispur.

Morigaon emerged as champions in both the Under-9 (Super Mini) boys’ and girls’ categories, along with the Under-14 (Sub-Junior) boys’ category. In the Super Mini boys’ final, Morigaon defeated Kamrup, while Tinsukia claimed the bronze medal. In the girls’ category, Morigaon won gold, Guwahati secured silver, and Dibrugarh took bronze.

In the Under-14 boys’ final held this evening, Morigaon defeated Guwahati in a thrilling match with a score of 7–7 (9–8 in extra time). Dibrugarh won the bronze medal by defeating Tinsukia.

In the girls’ category, Guwahati defeated Morigaon 11–3 to win the title, while Dibrugarh secured the bronze medal by defeating Tinsukia.

The participating districts in the tournament were Kamrup, Chandrapur, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Nagaon, Guwahati, Morigaon, and Dibrugarh Sadar.

The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Kulen Das (Cotton College), Deepak Nath (President, Guwahati Roll Ball Association), and Aniket Kashyap (Secretary, Assam Roll Ball Association).

Guwahati Triumphs in the 1st Youth Cup

In collaboration with the Assam Roll Ball Association and under the initiative of the Tinsukia Roll Ball Association, the 1st Inter-District Youth Cup Roll Ball Championship was held over two days (March 30 and 31) at N.K.D. Academy.

Guwahati clinched the title in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.
In the boys’ final held this evening, Guwahati defeated Kamrup 3–2 in a thrilling match.

Dibrugarh secured the bronze medal by defeating Makum.

Similarly, in the girls’ category, Guwahati triumphed over Morigaon with a dominant 12–1 victory to win the title, while Kamrup settled for the bronze medal.

The participating teams were Kamrup, Chandrapur, Makum, Tinsukia, Guwahati, Morigaon, and Dibrugarh.

The prize-giving ceremony was attended by Ratul Gogoi, Dwijesh Sharma, Debabrata Dohotiya, Bishwajit Bora, and other distinguished guests.

Morigaon defeated Dibrugarh by 6–3 goals to win the title of the Asmita Roll Ball League. Meanwhile, Guwahati defeated Nalbari by 4–3 goals to secure the third position.

The closing ceremony of the two-day event (21st & 22nd March), organized by the Tinsukia Roll Ball Association and N.K. Academy, was attended by distinguished guests including Sikandar Singh (SAI Sub Centre, Tinsukia), Bhuban Singh Dahotia, Achyut Borthakur, Debabrat Dahotia, Secretary of Assam Roll Ball Association Aniket Kashyap, Bishakha Baishya, Chief Coordinator of Assam Asmita League, along with other eminent personalities.

A total of 8 districts participated in the Assam Asmita League, namely — Nalbari, Chandrapur, Tinsukia, Sonitpur, Kamrup, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, and Morigaon.
