It has been a pleasure and quite an experience to have collaborated with Anand, who plays the Bağlama Saz, a Turkish stringed instrument.

Please join us as we explore an early morning raag…. as the Raag and the Sun rise together in harmony….

We are presenting this in a beautiful space ‘Art on the Terrace’ on Saturday, 7th March,2026.

Dear friends of the Terrace, thank you for seeing us through the 9th edition of Paarvai. We are very grateful to the artists of this season for sharing their precious work with us and to the audience who received their work so gracefully and responded with deep appreciation. These margazhi evenings were exquisite.

Thanks to Orbit Audio as always for their brilliant support, Pushpa Visuals and Pon Ovian for their help. Thank you Varsha Venugopal for your lovely poster designs.

Thank you to all those who contributed to the festival and for the use of space without which our humble festival couldn’t have been possible.

Sandra Pisharody is an acclaimed Mohiniyattam dancer from Kerala, trained for over two decades under Guru Nirmala Paniker at Natanakaisiki, Natanakairali. She has received advanced training in Netra Abhinaya and Navarasas from Guru G. Venu and Smt. Kapila Venu.

A recipient of the prestigious ‘Natyashri’ title, Sandra has performed at renowned venues including IIC New Delhi, Kalakshetra Yuva Nritya Utsav, NMACC Mumbai, the Soorya Festival, and at the Indo–Japan Cultural Exchange Program in Tokyo.
Her accolades include the CCRT Scholarship, the Ministry of Culture’s Young Artist Scholarship, the Kalavaahini Junior Fellowship, the Nalanda Nritya Nipuna Award, and ‘A Grade’ recognition from Doordarshan.
As an educator, she has conducted workshops and lecture-demonstrations at platforms such as S**C MACAY, Nrithyathi Festival, and the Abhinaya Festival in Brisbane. She is currently pursuing research in Mohiniyattam at Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University.

Ameena Shanavas is a dedicated Mohiniyattom artiste and a disciple of Guru Nirmala Panicker, receiving rigorous training in Desi Mohiniyattom, the style established by her guru. She began her Mohiniyattom journey in 2005, and earlier trained under Smt. Shyamala Surendran, learning both Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattom. She continues her Bharatanatyam training under Shri Renjith Babu and Smt. Vijna Vasudevan.

Ameena has been awarded Doordarshan B-grade accreditation in Mohiniyattom and has performed at prestigious venues including the Konark Festival, Chidambaram Natyanjali Festival, and the India Habitat Centre.

Meenakshi - A post graduate in performing arts majoring in Veena at Sathguru Sangeeta Samajam (College of Music), Madurai. She’s also a Gold Medallist from Madurai University.

A Senior disciple of Kalaimamani, Smt. Ramani Narayan for the past 25 years, she has performed at many concerts along with her Guru.

She has worked as Veena faculty for five years at Kalakshetra Foundation (Rukmani College of Arts & Music) Chennai. Later she was part of the Veena faculty for the evening college at The Music Academy, Chennai.

Arun started learning Carnatic mandolin under Sri U.P. Raju, building a strong foundation in Indian classical music and string technique.

He transitioned to Veena, training with Smt. Padma Veeraraghavan and Smt. Ramani Narayanan, and is currently under the guidance of Smt. Meenakshi Sankaran.

Proficient with multiple string instruments, including guitar, Veena, and Carnatic mandolin, he has performed Veena solos as well as accompanied his guru at temple festivals in Chennai.

He has led hundreds of Art of Living satsangs, using music to create spiritual experiences and build community in devotional contexts.

He has over 18 years of experience as a software architect, having worked at companies such as Freshworks and Microsoft on complex software systems.

He currently runs his own SaaS applications business, combining entrepreneurial drive with deep technical and artistic sensibilities.

Art on the Terrace is a private terrace, open to people who have a need to share a point of view - thoughts, ideas, statements, creations, work or journeys. The intention is to provide a space for people to express themselves without the inhibition of being judged. The Terrace can hold an audience of about 50-60 comfortably. The performances are open to the public and are free of charge.
