“What is ODISHA BIENNALE?”
The ODISHA BIENNALE is a global convocation of performing/visual artists from all genres such as classical, folk, contemporary etc. with all their diversities from around the globe that challenges traditional thinking and encourages new levels of enthusiasm for innovative and creative expression. ODISHA BIENNALE 2017 is the 3rd Odisha Biennale after 2012 pre-year event
of Odisha Biennale, Odisha Biennale 2013, Odisha Biennale 2015. 2017 is the year of Japan-India Friendly Exchanges, and Mr Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan, and Mr. Masayuki Taga, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata are planning to inaugurate the Odisha Biennale 2017 on 28th Oct 2017. ODISHA BIENNALE presents a 1 week exhibition, a program of performances, workshops, artist talks, and other special events. We are also interested in the link between creative practice and social development through worldwide connections and contributing to the underprivileged communities. We aim at bringing together an international vision of art and cross-cultural exchange. ODISHA BIENNALE will organise workshops for children lead by local and international cultural practitioners to create awareness and promote access to contemporary culture for all ages. Through ODISHA BIENNALE, we aim to highlight ODISHA as a dynamic hub for current ideas and an open society that encourages freedom of expression and debate as well as sponsoring significant and lasting benefits for the area and its people socially, economically and culturally. ODISHA BIENNALE strives to create a brand new Asian view of art, to boost recognition of Odisha as a state holding ODISHA BIENNALE, an event of dance and art with international authority.
