IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL

IMPETUS 26.0, the flagship National-Level Technical Student Extravaganza organized by IEEE UVCE, was a remarkable two-day celebration of innovation. Centered on the theme “FutureTech - Engineering Tomorrow”, this edition saw record-breaking participation as students from various institutions gathered to showcase their talents across diverse technical and non-technical domains.

The fest commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony graced by Chief Guests Mr. Puneeth Kumar, General Manager, HAL and Ms. VijayaShanthi C G, Program Director, Bosch Global Software Technologies. The event was presided over by UVCE Registrar Dr. A V Sriram, Controller of Examination Dr. B P Harish, and the dedicated faculty of UVCE.

Following the inauguration, the campus buzzed with energy as participants tackled coding battles, design contests, and innovation challenges. The vibrant atmosphere across both days reflected the incredible problem-solving skills and teamwork of the budding engineers. The fest concluded with a valedictory ceremony, rewarding excellence with certificates and cash prizes.

Stalls of IMPETUS 26.0

IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL, featured a diverse range of interactive stalls.The Astra Silica X Silica Launch stall focused on fundamental technical concepts through simple yet engaging activities such as crossword puzzles and concept-based questions. Participants were rewarded with chocolates and badges, making the experience both fun and motivating while encouraging active learning.

Additional Featured Stalls - Funeria, MARVEL, Oh My Tech, and Pratibimba - together created a lively and engaging environment by blending technology, creativity, and entertainment. They attracted enthusiastic participation and maintained a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.

Funeria emphasized coordination-based games, MARVEL showcased innovative tech-driven activities, Oh My Tech involved fast-paced and team-based challenges, and Pratibimba added a creative touch through art-based activities, making the overall experience interactive and memorable.

Quiz O’Clock

As part of IMPETUS 26.0 – Powered by HAL, Quiz O’Clock was organized by IEEE UVCE in collaboration with Kuthuhala UVCE. The event aimed to assess participants’ knowledge in technology, emerging IT trends, and logical reasoning, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students.

The competition comprised of two rounds. Round 1 was conducted via the platform Slido, where teams responded to 20 questions covering technical domains, current technological affairs, and analytical problem-solving, with top-performing teams advancing to the final round. Round 2 incorporated a high-stakes wager system and included sub-rounds such as Get the False Out, Bugtrap, Render, and Logo-Rhythm, designed to evaluate participants’ technical proficiency, speed, and critical thinking.

Overall, the event served as an excellent platform for students to demonstrate their technical expertise, teamwork, and ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Tech Tambola

As a part of IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL, IEEE UVCE hosted Tech Tambola, an engaging event that combined the traditional Tambola game format with technical knowledge, where instead of numbers, participants responded to technical clues and questions to identify the correct answers on their tickets.

The competition consisted of two rounds. In Round 1, participants were given 4×4 matrix Tambola tickets containing answers to technical concepts, and technical clues were called out for them to identify and mark the correct answers. From each winning pattern, two teams qualified for the next round. In Round 2, participants were given a 5×5 matrix ticket with increased difficulty questions.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and remained engaging and interactive throughout, being conducted smoothly and efficiently. Overall, Tech Tambola successfully combined learning with entertainment and contributed positively to the experience of IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL.

Tantragyana Tarka 2.0

Tantragyana Tarka 2.0 was conducted as part of IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL, and organized by IEEE UVCE in collaboration with ಯು.ವಿ.ಸಿ.ಇ. ಚೇತನ.The event uniquely combined Kannada culture with logical and technical thinking, providing participants with an engaging and intellectually stimulating experience.

As a part of first Round, titled Kannada Skill Arena, teams participated in a written round where they decoded Kannada phrases, proverbs and dialogues presented using cryptic techniques. This round effectively tested participant’s language proficiency, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills in a creative, tech-driven format.

In the second round, which was conducted as an offline Debate, four teams were selected to participate, out of which two teams advanced to the final round. Teams discussed contemporary technological evolution, arguing for and against the balance between modern advancements and cultural heritage. This round highlighted participant’s critical thinking and communication skills.

Prompt & Pursuit

As a part of IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL, Prompt & Pursuit was organized by IEEE UVCE in collaboration with Salesforce AAA UVCE, a CRM solutions challenge that tested participant’s analytical, problem-solving, and managerial skills by designing solutions that enhanced customer experience while delivering business value was conducted.

The competition consisted of two rounds. In Round 1, the participants were required to craft the CRM solutions from the given hypothetical scenarios and overcome the challenges mentioned in them. In Round 2, they had to pitch their solutions to the judge in the Shark-tank styled environment proving the feasibility, value and the profit it brings.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and provided students with a platform to showcase their creativity, technical expertise and real-time problem-solving skills in the field of CRM.

Project 2049

For IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL, IEEE UVCE in collaboration with UVCE VINIMAYA, organised Project 2049, an exciting science - fiction engineering event that challenged participants to test their creativity, scientific reasoning and problem - solving skills by designing futuristic gadgets with surprise challenges and defending their working principles in a competitive debate format.

The competition consisted of two rounds. In Round 1, teams presented their original sci - fi gadget designs to a judging panel, explaining the working principles behind their inventions. Teams were evaluated on originality, design quality, scientific soundness, clarity of presentation and performance, with the top teams qualifying for the next round. In Round 2, shortlisted teams went head - to - head in a structured debate where they attacked the logical flaws in their opponent’s gadget and defended their own against scrutiny.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and provided students with a platform to showcase their imagination, technical knowledge and real - time argumentation skills at the intersection of science and science fiction.

IPL Auction

IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL, featured the IPL Auction as one of its most dynamic events that simulated a real IPL - style bidding experience, testing participants cricket knowledge, strategy and decision - making skills.

The event was conducted in three rounds. Round 1, the IPL Knockout Quiz, tested participants on their knowledge of past IPL seasons. Round 2, the panel auction in which the shortlisted teams competed in groups, from which top teams advanced further. Round 3, the Mega Auction was the final stage where teams built their squads in a high - pressure bidding environment using strategic elements like power cards.

Participants were evaluated based on their strategy, teamwork and auction decisions. Overall the event provided an exciting and practical experience in competitive planning and team management.

Design Disaster

Design Disaster, conducted as part of IMPETUS 26.0 - Powered by HAL, organized by IEEE UVCE in collaboration with GDG UVCE, was an engaging and creativity driven event that challenged participants to explore both flawed and effective user experiences. The event consisted of two rounds.

In the first round which was conducted online, participants were required to intentionally design confusing and frustrating interfaces by violating core UX principles, allowing them to explore usability flaws and understand design mistakes in a practical way. Selected participants then advanced to Second Round, conducted offline, where they redesigned their interfaces into intuitive, user friendly solutions and presented their approach to the judges.

Overall, Design Disaster was a successful event with active participation and creative outputs. It provided participants with a unique platform to experiment with design thinking, enhance problem solving skills, and gain practical experience.

In this event, participants were given solutions and challenged to generate prompts that closely matched the original prompts used to produce those solutions. The competition encouraged analytical thinking, precision, and a deep understanding of how prompts influence AI-generated outputs.

Participants actively explored different approaches to recreate accurate prompts while maintaining clarity and logical reasoning. The event created a competitive yet learning-oriented environment where participants enhanced their problem-solving and prompt-design skills. Overall, Ctrl + Z served as a unique platform for learning, innovation, and intellectual challenge.
