Anup Phukan has been an important figure in the music community of Ahmedabad, Originally from Assam.... who came to study in MS University, fell in love with the place and decided to spread the music around.. The Nidus Academy of Music and Arts, founded by Anup phukan have been pioneers in the "music education" have developed and polished artists which today have given the Rainbow its originality and musicality. They have trained and mentored vocalists/ guitar players/ bass players / drummers etc and have helped them develop the musician in them.. They continue to get accolades in their respective fields. Rainbow Music Festival was started on 29th April 2010 primarily to display the talent of the upcoming students which has been increasing day by day.. The response to the show was so amazing that it has evolved into an unofficial sort of gathering for all the music lovers around the city.. The show has evolved from being a 30 student performance to having over a couple hundred making it a one of its kind festival. And now its reached to a stage that it can proudly present itself as the premier festival of Gujarat where music just flows, and different types of musicians come together to cast a beautiful Rainbow..
