Today‚ a Promotional Event of the movie “POROBASI” was held at 03:00 PM at SSR Cinema Hall, Kohinoor Complex‚ Khowai‚ Tripura. The film is Written and Produced by the renowned Businessman and Cultural enthusiast Sri. Anil Debnath. It is the First Presentation of PURBA DIGANTA FILM PRODUCTION HOUSE and is considered the First Big-budget Film of our State.

The film portrays a poignant story of Tripura, reflecting the struggles of identity, language, religion, citizenship and belonging of the Bengali community who made immense sacrifices during the freedom movement. The storyline deeply touched the audience, and the film received warm appreciation from everyone present. All the guests congratulated and applauded the filmmakers for their remarkable effort.

Celebrating 100 Years of Ritwik Ghatak, the visionary auteur who made eight feature films, each a milestone in Indian cinema and influenced a generation of maverick filmmakers like Mani Kaul, Kumar Shahani and John Abraham as a teacher. A brilliant artist who did not get his due in his lifetime, he is hailed as a genius today.

On the occasion of his birth centenary, the CELLULOID family pays its respectful tribute to Ritwik Ghatak.
