פסטיבל "מנורת לילה" הוא פרי יוזמתם של יאשה רוזוב ועברי באומגרטן, העוסקים בבחינה ושינוי המרחב העירוני באמצעות פרויקטים יזומים בתחומי האמנות והתרבות המותאמים לזמן ולמקום. כבר עשור הם פועלים יחד ולחוד במרחבים עירוניים מורכבים ומאתגרים. מידי שנה מארח הפסטיבל אוצרת אורחת -השנה האוצרת נוגה דוידסון מתארחת כחלק מצוות האוצרות של הפסטיבל.
אנו מזמינים את הקהל לעצור ולהרהר יחד עם מיטב היוצרים בישראל בשאלות העירוניות והחברתיות המורכבות של השעה. הפסטיבל שופך אור על נווה שאנן כמרחב לימינאלי שבו פועלים כוחות השוק ומשנים את פניה של השכונה. בתקופה בה הלילות הם הארוכים בשנה, בתקופה שבה נחגגים חגי אורות בקרב תרבויות ברחבי העולם, דרום תל אביב הופכת לרגע לכיכר המרכזית בעיר. The Nightlight Festival is a cultural initiative of Yasha Rozov and Ivry Baumgarten, who are exploring and transforming urban spaces through projects in the arts and culture that are site and time specific. For a decade now, they have been working together in complex and challenging urban spaces. Every year the festival hosts a curator - this year curator Noga Davidson is hosted as part of the festival's curatorial team.
We invite the audience to stop and reflect with the best Israeli artists on complex urban and social questions of the time. The festival sheds light on Neve Shaanan as a liminal space where market forces operate and slowly change the neighborhood’s character and socio-cultural dynamics. At a time of year when nights are the longest and when festivals of light are celebrated among cultures around the world, southern Tel Aviv is for a moment the main attraction.
