This guy deserves a little more attention.
I photographed this lionfish at an aquarium in Crete, and recently showed the image to a friend who knows me as a photographer.
Her reaction surprised me. She knew I photographed events, families and portraits, but hadn't realized that fine-art photography is also a big part of what I do.
The funny thing is, I have shared some of this work here before. I just don't think I've ever really talked about it as its own part of my photography.
I love photographing people and the moments I'm hired to capture. But I also photograph simply because something makes me stop — a shape, a face, light, weather, an odd little moment, or apparently a particularly magnificent fish. 😂
So I'm going to start sharing even more of that work here too.
