🎉135 years since the birth of Josef Šíma.

🎨 Josef Šíma ranks among the most significant figures in 20th-century Czech and European modern painting. His work emerged between Prague and Paris, between painting and poetry, between reality and imagination 🌍📖

✨His work continues to inspire art historians, curators, and viewers to this day. Šíma’s body of work—blending painting, poetry, and philosophy—remains one of the most remarkable contributions of Czech art to European modernism.

This article is part of the Anniversaries series, in which we commemorate significant figures in Czech culture and public life. We share the stories of those who shaped Czech culture both at home and abroad 🇨🇿🌐

🎉Jiří Grygar celebrates his 90th birthday.

He is an astronomer, astrophysicist, and one of the most important popularizers of science in Czechia. Generations of viewers remember him from the program Okna vesmíru dokořán (Windows to the Universe Wide Open), which brought the universe closer to the general public🔭

This year, he also received the Neuron Foundation Award for promoting a love for science. ✨

We wish the professor all the best on his anniversary and remember his extraordinary journey in science and popularization.💙

Holocaust remembrance is not only about the past.
It is a commitment to the present. A commitment to resist dehumanization, to question silence, to stand against antisemitism and all forms of hatred — wherever they appear

🇨🇿 November 17 – Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day

Today, the Czech Republic marks November 17, a day honoring those who stood up for freedom, democracy, and human rights.
It commemorates the student protests of 1939 against the N**i occupation and the Velvet Revolution of 1989, which brought an end to communist rule.

A reminder of the courage it takes to defend liberty — and the lasting power of peaceful protest. ✨
