Gorgeous Leitrim Cycling Festival Biodiversity Cycle led by ecologist Yosef Dvores and captured in this lovely little video by Kryziak.

We cycled part of the greenway in Manorhamilton - off road tracks and shared-use quiet roads - all lined with abundant hedgerows.
We learned about the need for continuous corridors for greater diversity and resilience, we identified flowers and ferns, we talked about why hedgerows are so important and we paused to listen to the bird song and take in the smells.
A wonderful reminder of the richness of our native species and why they should all be celebrated.

Huge thanks to Irish Environmental Network for supporting this cycle - these reminders are so important in lives that are often too busy to appreciate what we already have.

Thanks to Yosef for leading us with such humour, knowledge and care.
Thanks to the artist collective ^ for hosting us in their studios for a delicious lunch.
And to everyone who came and took part in our biodiversity cycle.
We look forward to future gatherings.

🚨Location change

Please not our lovely Biodiversity Cycle will now be taking place in Manorhamilton (and not Cloone as previously advertised) on Saturday 23rd May from 3-5pm, meeting at the library.

Leitrim Cycling Festival, as part of its 10th year celebrations is organising a Biodiversity Cycle to explore the greenway in Manorhamilton. The greenway stretch shows the potential of the SLNCR greenway and takes in a quiet boreen and off-road section with beautiful hedgerows. 🚲🍀🌱🍃

Catering by meenymore cottages will be served in Manorhamilton for all involved. 😋

Huge thanks to the Irish Environmental Network for supporting this event.

Sometimes its the quiet moments during the festival that really stay with you.
This one was a treat - those little nibling legs happily pedaling almost all the way to Keeldra lake. So proud 😍
