Broadmeadow Linear parkrun #33

Another beautiful morning in Swords, thanks to all that showed up. So lovely to see some new faces and a few more PBs which is no mean feat on such a warm morning!

As Volunteer Appreciation Month comes to a close, we would like to thank everyone who has volunteered with us, not only today but in any of our events. You are the ones keeping the wheels in motion and it couldn’t happen without you. Our lovely volunteer Cormac did his first Parkrun today trying his hand at Tailwalker, thank you ☺️
Special shout out to today’s Run Director Carole Schilling who has racked up her 50th volunteer milestone! We really appreciate you Carole, thank you 💜

Another big milestone today went to Thomas Lara from Lusk Athletics Club who completed his 50th parkrun. congrats Thomas!

Broadmeadow Linear parkrun #32 🔥 🔥🔥

It was a hot one at Broadmeadow Linear parkrun this morning, but we are NOT complaining!

A huge congratulations to Cillian Brady on reaching his 50 parkrun milestone. A fantastic achievement!

We were delighted to welcome a great group of first timers from Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club : Una Cherry, Sinead Lyons, Fintan O’Hanlon, Conal O’Hanlon and Desmond Lyons -along with Seán Byrne and milestone man Cillian Brady. We also welcomed Niamh Sheridan from Porterstown Panthers.

Despite the heat, there were loads of impressive PBs this week - massive well done to Maya Higgins, Rachel Murphy, Ricardo Filipe, Eoin Fitzpatrick, Aoibheann Doyle, Olivia Corby, Aaron McDonnell and Anton Whalley for digging deep in those conditions 😮‍💨

Leading the way home this week were Eoin Fitzpatrick, Al O’Dowd and Jim McCafferty for the men, while Sinead Arthurs, Cate Dillon and Pamela Kavanagh were our first female finishers 👏

As always, a huge thank you to all our volunteers for making the event happen, especially on such a warm morning. See you all next week 💜

Broadmeadow Linear parkrun #31

We had a few new faces this morning at Broadmeadow Linear, which we love to see. Some visitors and some new parkrunners. It was Liam Dunne’s first parkrun - hope you enjoyed it and that we see you again. Another newbie to parkrun was Conor Dylan who was supported by his dad Paul and the fantastic volunteers from the very friendly Polish Runners Club Ireland

First male finishers this week were Nathan Pearce, Jim McCafferty and Darren Reilly and our first female were Sinead Arthurs, Niamh Moran and Alison McCormick

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers. We have an amazing but small bunch of regulars who keep our parkrun going week after week. We would love a few more to join the team. It’s not something that needs to be a regular thing and lots of the roles are really simple and you will be well supported. Please do get in touch if you would like to lend a hand some Saturday.

Broadmeadow Linear parkrun #30

We were treated to a sunny, fresh morning for our 30th event at Broadmeadow Linear parkrun!

It was fantastic to welcome a great mix of visitors and parkrun tourists this week. A group travelled all the way from the UK especially to join us at BLP, while our Killarney visitors made an early start, leaving at 5.30am to be with us. We also welcomed visitors from St Anne’s, Raheny and Cabinteely parkruns.

Our first male finishers were Al O’Dowd, followed by Arda Hayes and Jim McCafferty, while Fikriye Hayes was first female home, ahead of Florence Bastow and Caroline Grandadam.

A big welcome to first time parkrunners Maya Higgins, Francesca D’Ugo and Regina Mugabo - we hope it’s the first of many! We also had lots of first timers to Broadmeadow Linear, including Jacob Miles, who impressively completed his 574th parkrun with us today 👏👏👏

Huge congratulations also to Max O’Dowd on reaching his 50 parkrun milestone 👏👏👏

There were also a few fantastic PBs recorded this week.
