A look back at SMF24 while we plan ahead for 2026. It's normally at this dank dark period in the year we take over various spaces around Sligo with the weird and wonderful of Irish leftfield music and art.

This fallow year is giving us plenty of time and space for fresh ideas to percolate...

Were you there last year? What were your favourite moments? Who or what would you like to see in 2026?

A week on, we can look back on the incredible short, sharp burst of music that was Minor Disturbance.

Simply put, we truly thank you all for making it a special weekend!

Another deep thank you to all our performers and DJs for sprinkling their magic across Fureys, The Factory and Lillies and to our crew and volunteers who worked cheerfully and tirelessly throughout.

✖ BOOCH BAR ✖
For the event at The Factory, we are experimenting with an alcohol-free bar.

We promise a quirky and independently-sourced selection of drinks.

We are psyched to partner with Lú Fermentation, a craft kombucha company from Co. Clare who's range of booch will be available exclusively on the night. Running our bar will be Phoebe and Hedda of The Central in Manorhamilton, they'll also hook you up with an offering of fruity sodas and soft drinks.

And if your missing your h***h, our late parties in Furey's and Lillies will of course have all your liquor needs!

✖ ONE WEEK TO GO ✖
Furey's will be the place for our opening party!

Our lil weekender kicks off with a high-energy, genre-blending night at Furey’s featuring .eem, trailblazing Belfast-based DJ and promoter whose genre-fluid, high-octane sets mix nostalgia, club culture and community. Known for driving change in the Belfast underground; euphoria, energy, and the unexpected collide in her sets as she moves fluidly through house, Italo, acid, & techno although no genre is off-limits!

Sligo’s own DJ collective, Making Waves, return to their spiritual home at Furey's. Known for their eclectic selections and deep love of the dancefloor, Kyna Magic and Dr Räni .is.pask will take to the decks and they’ll set the tone for a weekend of musical discovery.

✖️ MOHAMMAD SYFKHAN ✖️
We are very pleased to welcome Mohammad back to Sligo for Minor Disturbance, since he last played at SMF23 he has released his debut record and brought his bouyant and energetic sound to many rooms, festivals, and dancers across UK and Europe. The Carrick on Shannon based Kurdish/Syrian singer and bouzouki player blends songs and music from various traditions from the Middle East and North Africa to create his own brand of ecstatic party music. He includes some modern takes of traditional and folkloric Kurdish songs as well as some original music of his own in his live performance.

✖️ LATE PARTIES ✖️
Hit the dancefloor with two late parties during Minor Disturbance - spill out from The Factory on Saturday night for an after party with MOVING STILL in Lillie's and to get us into the party vibes KATIEE.EEM will be taking to Furey's on Friday night.

KATIEE.EEM & MAKING WAVES
📍 Furey's Pub
📅 Fri 5th September
🕙 10pm til late
Genre-fluid DJ & promoter, Katiee.eem has been making waves in the underground scene with high-energy sets that fuse a range of musical styles with doses of nostalgia and unexpected twists. Katiee.eem is at the forefront of a cultural shift in Belfast’s club scene—driving positive change through parties and community.

Local DJ collective Making Waves will provide the perfect warm up.

MOVING STILL
📍 Lillie's Bar
📅 Sat 6th September
🕚 11pm til late
Moving Still has carved out his own space in electronic music, blending vintage Arabic sounds with modern club energy. Named one of Mixmag’s Ones to Watch for 2025, his tracks have stormed festival circuits, topped Rush Hour charts, and landed on Spotify playlists
like Altar and Future Pioneer.

Born in Saudi Arabia and now based in Dublin, the Saudi-Irish DJ and producer is known for high-energy productions like “Sidi Mansour” by Cheba Yamina—a festival favourite featured in Mixmag and Resident Advisor’s ‘Best Vocal Bangers’ playlist. His track “Al Disco Haram” has earned praise for its grumbling Italo-esque bassline and was featured in a BBC documentary by Nabihah Iqbal and Nooriyah.

Both events are free, with huge thanks to Furey's Pub and Lillies Sligo for their support to make these happen ⚡⚡⚡
