AT-LANTIS AT LAND presented by Stephanie Lamprea, Alistair MacDonald, Sherkin Tonal Choir, Jesse Jones, Alison Conneely and Sara Murphy
This year, Open Ear Festival marks its tenth anniversary with its most ambitious commission to date.
At-Lantis at Land is a large-scale, site-specific performance work for Sherkin Island, inspired by Maya Deren’s 1944 experimental film At Land — a dream-like meditation on identity, landscape, and the body washed ashore.
The work brings together soprano Stephanie Lamprea, visual artist Jesse Jones, textile artist Alison Conneely, sound artist Alistair MacDonald, maker Sara Murphy, and the Sherkin Tonal Choir in a piece that crosses sound, visual art, textile, and live performance. It is created in partnership with TU Dublin’s BA in Visual Arts programme.
At-Lantis at Land premieres on 31 May 2026 at Silver Strand Beach, Sherkin Island, as part of Open Ear Festival 2026.
