Summer has arrived, and we're delighted to begin our Ballymaloe Festival of Food 2026 YouTube series with Rory O'Connell.

In this wonderful demonstration, celebrates the best of the season with recipes including Chicken Véronique, smoked eel scrambled eggs and Irish asparagus. Along the way, he shares stories, cooking wisdom and his trademark approach to creating memorable food from simple, beautiful ingredients.

A reminder that some of the best cooking starts with what's growing around us right now.

🌿 Our Commitment to Sustainability 🌿

We’re continuing to take simple, practical steps to make the Ballymaloe Festival of Food as low-waste as possible — and we’d love you to be part of it.

This year, we’re introducing a reusable enamel plate deposit scheme. Collect a plate for a €10 deposit, use it throughout the festival, rinse it at one of our wash-up stations, and return it at the end for a full refund (Or hang on to it as a BFF keepsake)

We’ll also have Ballymaloe Festival reusable water bottles available to buy, with free refill stations located across the site to help reduce single-use plastic.

Plus, €1 from every bottle sold will be donated to Clean Coasts Ballynamona 🌊

Small changes, big impact — thank you for helping us celebrate food more sustainably.
