Margaret Maloney Memorial Darts Tournament

Yesterday, we had our presentation to Birr Community Nursing Unit Social Fund, our main beneficiary of our 2025 tournament. We presented Leilagh and the crew with a cheque for €4500 which will go to great use we know. It was lovely to have Leilagh, Brendan, Kathleen & some members of Kathleen's family out with us yesterday. We are delighted to be able to help these fantastic people who in turn help look after our friends and neighbours. We look forward to 2026 already.

We were extremely sorry to hear the news that Bernies SuperValu went on fire yesterday, Brian and all the staff have always been supportive of our darts tournament every yr since we started the tournament.

We are thinking of you all and will be there to support you all as soon as you re open your doors.

Great to see these gentlemen doing so well at the weekend. An added bonus for us as a family is to see 3 winners of the Margaret Maloney Memorial Darts Tournament do so well. Trevor English 2024 winner Ronan Mcdonagh 2025 winner Brian Fletcher 2023 winner. Dylan Slevin and Stephen Rosney will be there in the future hopefully. Dylan never fails to support us with merchandise every year. Well done Men.

Today is the day of our 10th Margaret Maloney Memorial Darts Tournament. We Margarets family and our committee cannot thank you, our supporters, for the amazing support you have shown us both at the tournament and outside the tournament since Mam passed away on this date 12 years ago. The support that businesses, locals, our throwers, and our venues have shown us over our previous tournaments has been without a doubt over and way beyond our expectations. The financial support that we have been able to provide to local causes has been phenomenal. So let's not stop now. Let us all make today our biggest and best tournament to date. Thank you to all our sponsors for your donations so far. For our darting enthusiasts, remember the pub is open from 3pm today with registration at 4pm and darts away at 5pm(ish). We hope to see you all later.
