2026 Blue Jeans Queen is are very own chairperson, Charlene.
Over the last 2 years as chair of our club she has been amazing. She has helped the club raise over €18,000 for two amazing charity Embrace Farm and North Tipp Hospice in the last 12 months. Hosted table quizzes and taken in part in many. She has represented the county in Tag rugby , debating and getting to the semifinal of young farmer of the year in 2024 just to name a few. She is a regular at our sports night and social nights. She is always up for a night out.
Charlene is an extremely active person, regularly out running, most recently doing the 10km night trail run in Lough borra and doing the 6mile Great Limerick run in 2025, taking part in charity walks including Darkness into light, and also playing rugby 🏉 and hockey 🏑, taking part in a Hyrox here and there. She has been extremely lucky to win cups in both Leinster and Munster playing rugby. She’s a huge fan of a sauna and ice bath for a little R&R.
Charlene is a down to earth girl who always go out of her ways to helps other and will always suppport all members of her club.
Charlene is going into her 4th year of Agriculture science and sustainability 🧬. She farms part time with her parents at home on their organic farm. Charlene loves to milk cows as well, her love for cows started during Covid where she caught the milking bug at 15 when she used to cycle to the neighbours farm to milk 18 cows and it took off from there, this has led her to England and Germany to work on farms out there. Big things start small. 🐮
See you all in Athboy to cheer on our Queen. 👸

Nenagh Macra are delighted to announce we are running the Calf fundraiser again this year and for a charity closer to us all. The charity of choice this year is North Tipp hospice. If you have an interest in supporting this year’s chosen charity please contact our chairperson Charlene Powell on 0830545775. We ask you the farmers to help raise money for the charity by donating a calf of your choice to the sale that is happening on the 24th of March at 11am in Nenagh mart. Nenagh Macra would like to thank all the farmers that donated a calf last year and because of their generosity and many other people’s donations we raised €10,000 for Embrace Farm.
