Here's another clip from 'A Meath Miscellany' screening tomorrow evening at 7.30 at the Solstice Arts Centre
This is a story from Gael Linn's 'Amharc Éireann' newsreel which also features new housing estates in Trim and a Fleadh Rince in Oldcastle.

There's also a lavish American dramatisation of St. Patrick’s trial at Tara, footage from the 1949 All-Ireland Football Final when Meath claimed a dramatic victory over Cavan & the colour of Butlins holidaymakers captured on film.

Local pianist Aodhamair Reilly will provide live musical accompaniment for the silent films in the programme, creating a unique and immersive cinematic experience for audiences.
The screening will be introduced by Sunniva O’Flynn, Head of Irish Film Programming at the Irish Film Institute (IFI) who will provide insight into the films and the work of the Irish Film Archive in preserving Ireland’s rich audiovisual heritage.

The production turned the town into a "fully-fledged film set," specifically using locations like the Kells Handball Club. It’s a major local achievement, co-produced by Kells-based Scriptoria Pictures, with a release planned for 2027
