Music in Monkstown

Music in Monkstown 1-4 October 2026, with concerts throughout the year. Dublin classical music festival, since 2014. We live in one of the most beautiful villages in Ireland.

Here we have almost everything that we want: places to eat and drink, beautiful walks, fabulous buildings (including our churches) and lovely people! We are bringing one more thing to the people of Monkstown. We have started an annual Classical Music Festival to take place every September in the Church of Ireland Parish Church, by kind permission of the Canon, Patrick Lawrence. For this initial ye

ar, we have assembled some of the best Irish musicians, alongside some visitors from abroad and we offer four concerts of superb music making. Over a three day period, these concerts will create an amazing atmosphere in our village as our residents and visitors enjoy not just the music, but all our amenities, restaurants, bars and shops and the fantastic atmosphere that is Monkstown. As the festival grows over the years, Monkstown will take its place on the festival map and the music of the great composers will be here, live, for all to enjoy. We invite you to come and enjoy the success of Music In Monkstown for this year and for years to come.

Resurgam’s 'Suppressed Voices' showcases vocal music from five centuries and a diversity of styles, from the renaissance polyphony of Byrd to folk traditions of our own time. All are voices suppressed by politics or war, religious persecution or enforced exile. Featuring works by some of the ‘Entartete’ composers suppressed by the N**i regime, including Mendelssohn, Saguer, Zeisl, Distler and Milhaud.

In association with Music in Monkstown.
