This time next week we will be in full swing for the Cookstown Motor Club Ltd Benone Stages rally and round 3 of the 2026 Sligo Pallets BorderRally Championship of the impressive and quality packed entries what are you're predictions for overall podium 1st, 2nd and 3rd, Modified Podium ! We are reliably informed that the driveability of these stages are all joy to behold and really are pure drivers stages, witha good mix of everything, tight and technical and fast and flowing, the countdown is on!

As we are little under 11 days away from round 3 of our 2026 edition of the we are excited to see as many of our registered competitors supporting Cookstown Motor Club Ltd and their Benone Stages rally, to boost our media presence, we cast our minds back to our last 'Drive of the Day' recipients Anthony O'Halloran is no stranger to success or lifting awards. Over the years he has successfully steered, full blown Opel Manta 400's, to a Multititude of Ford Es**rt Mk2's and also Mitsubishi Evo9 grp.n's, all either well within the top ten and quite often has been frequently within the podium positions in many national and international events the length and breadth of the country. When the regulations where released for the current Dacia Sandero Challenge Cup, Anthony duly decided, he had achieved so much in high powered top spec rally cars it was time to raise the bar, and to go from 300+ BHP all singing all dancing monsters, to the humble 80 Bhp of the Sandero is something else, and to hone your skills into extracting the most from the limited power and still be ultra competitive is testament to Anthony's skill as a driver and to have mechanical knowledge on how to distribute that power at the key moments, his easy driving style and mechanical sympathy are all factors which have brought Anthony and his new co-driver Cian Lynch so much success, indeed Cian must be commended very much as a relative newcomer considering this is only his 3rd full season, and to step in with such a masterclass of a driver of Anthony's status, could prove daunting for many, but Cian has taken to the role of navigator very well, and has guided Anthony to much success in the past 3 years. So for the duo to take the spoils in Birr as our class23 drive of the day was the icing on the cake.

We all at the Sligo Pallets Border Rally Championship would like to congratulate both Anthony and Cian for their sterling efforts and to wish them continued success in their 2026 Border Rally Championship campaign.

See you all in Cookstown and it will be great to kick-start the season again, get those entries in ladies and gents !

Great to have Monaghan Motor Club stages back on the calendar as round 4 of the , always an event which creates great excitement, great stages and this year it could be pivotal in the race for the title, we will keep you posted with all relative content and entry details as we have it, massive respect to Clare Motorclub for facilitating this date change

Yesterday afternoon we had the privilege of being invited to attend the official launch of Cookstown Motor Club Ltd Tyrone stages rally scheduled for Saturday 6th June 2026, the event in association with main sponsor is truly a stand out events in the fact it boasts over 40 fabulous competitive stage miles all within one venue and doesn't have to rely on road closing orders , it's pure, fun and its all at the disposal of the club, we have first hand information the stages themselves are real drivers stages and with limited road mileage and a centralised service, this event really ticks all the boxes, and all for a cheap days racing. As round 3 of your we would encourage our registered competitors to please support the event, as in the past the Championship proudly catered for competitors either side of the Border, we are delighted to be able to recreate that link and going forward it would be wonderful to have this event on our calendar. The countdown is on ladies, gentlemen and juniors with less than one month to go and the closing date rapidly approaching its time to get the entries in for you're third counting round of this year's , with two rounds over its still all to play for and there still is time for new applications for the championship as there still is enough scope to challenge for the win! We are delighted as a championship to have a round back north of the Border, for many years Newry and Mourne provided an excellent event to bridge the gap, and now Cookstown Motor Club Ltd have duly stepped up to provide us with a tantalising event in Benone, this event has it all, great driving stages, as compact as you will get and a centralised service between the very close at hand stages link to regulations is below
