What an incredible day for our community 💚

Organising an event of this scale is never easy, and as a small committee of just 5 people, it can be incredibly challenging at times. There are months of planning, problem-solving, and behind-the-scenes work that people don’t always see. But seeing the streets filled, with barriers nearly bursting with crowds, the smiles, the laughter, the cheers in a jam packed Fair Green, and the sense of community on display made every single bit of effort worthwhile.

We want to sincerely thank every single person who played a role in making this event happen. It truly takes a community to create something like this.

To our amazing sponsors:
Ballymaloe Cookery School, Cork County Council, An Stór, Talbot Hotel Midleton, Midleton Credit Union, East Cork Oil, Irish Distillers, BOXD Coffee, Leahy’s Open Farm, Hurley’s SuperValu, Skin Vet, Print Profile, EirGrid, and JJ Coppingers. Your support is what makes this event possible year after year, and we are so grateful.

A very special thank you to:
✨ Diane, our incredible MC…. an absolute lifesaver on the day. You had the crowd going from start to finish and truly were the life and energy of the parade.
✨ Talbot Hotel Midleton… for not only supporting us, but also providing a space for meetings and planning throughout the year.
✨The amazing stewards… all we can say is the event wouldn’t go ahead without ye.

Huge thanks also to:
Event Hub (sound system), Roy Kearney (trailer), Float Co (balloons), Lennox’s (electricity), AIB (car park), En Garde (barriers), and James O’Donovan (DJ). Your work behind the scenes, on the day, and support ensured everything ran safely, smoothly, and successfully.

A massive thank you to all the Fair Green vendors, the atmosphere you created added so much to the day and made it a real celebration for everyone who attended.

Thank you to the councillors, td’s, local representatives, and all who came and watched the parade from the viewing stand 🔅

And finally, to our committee, Danielle, Colette, Oscar, Alicia, Sarah, Diane, Jay. This event simply would not happen without you. The time, commitment, late nights, and dedication you give, all on a voluntary basis, is truly incredible. It’s not easy, but days like this remind us exactly why we do it.

To everyone who came out, supported, and celebrated with us, thank you. Thank you to those who took their time to leave nice comments, it means more than you think. This event belongs to the whole community ❤️

Until next year…🤝☘️

We want to thank our stewards who turned up again for us this year. We have the same crowd the last couple of years with a few new additions along the way. Without these guys, we couldn’t hold the parade at all. So if ye recognise any of these faces, please give them a thank you, a wave, a pat on the back.
Thank you so much guys

☘️ ST. PATRICK’S DAY IN MIDLETON – IT’S TOMORROW! ☘️

Right lads and lassies, the big day is nearly here! 🇮🇪
Midleton is ready for a brilliant St. Patrick’s Day celebration tomorrow, March 17th, with a full afternoon of music, food, family fun, and of course the parade at 3pm.

Here’s everything you need to know so there’s no confusion tomorrow 👇

🎉 THE FAIRGREEN – 1PM–5PM
Head to The Fairgreen for music, food and plenty of craic:
🎧 DJ James O’Donovan
🍕 Volcano Pizzas
☕ Harvey’s Coffee
🍩 Dinky Doughnuts
🍦 Emerald Ices
🔥 Annie’s Roasts
🌶 Spice Genie
🎨 Print Forge Company
🎡 Rides & amusements with Glanmire Ices

(Basically… come hungry and bring the kids or they’ll never forgive you.)

🥁 THE PARADE – 3PM
The parade will start at AIB and finish at Distillery Walk.
Find a good spot along the route and enjoy the fantastic community groups, performers and businesses taking part.

(If you see someone waving like they’re running for president… they probably are. Or they just spotted their mam in the crowd.)

🚧 ROAD CLOSURES & DIVERTIONS
Diversions will be in place from 1PM–6PM tomorrow.
Please follow all instructions from Gardaí and stewards.

Important reminders:
• No parking on Main Street from midnight tonight
• Some surrounding streets will have restricted access during the parade
• The slip road from Riverside Way to New Cork Road will remain open

(If you try drive through the parade route at 3pm… we admire the optimism anyway.)

🚌 BUS ÉIREANN SERVICES
Bus services will run as normal, but stops on the parade route will not be serviced during diversion times.
Please contact Bus Éireann for full details.

⛑ FIRST AID
First Aid will be located on Church Lane during the event.

🎤 VIEWING STAGE
There will be a viewing stage outside PTSB on Main Street.

(If you can’t see the parade, just follow the sound of drums, whistles and someone shouting “UP THE REBELS!”)

👏 A massive thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, Gardaí, Cork County Council and local businesses who help make this day possible.

Most importantly! Come out, enjoy the day, support local businesses and have the craic.

And remember…
If the weather holds we’ll call it a miracle.
If it rains, we’ll call it tradition. 🌧️☘️

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Midleton! 🇮🇪
