The Glens Arts Centre Proudly funded by the Arts Council and Leitrim County Council.

Arts centre in Manorhamilton, County Leitrim, presenting live music, theatre, film, comedy and arts events, with professional recording facilities and a welcoming space for audiences. The Glens Arts Centre is a gorgeously intimate venue housed in a converted church in Manorhamilton. Our performance space seats up to 130, has excellent natural acoustics and superb technical facilities. The Glens also houses recording facilities and self catering accommodation for visiting performers and short term lettings. We host a wide ranging programme including the best of contemporary, world, traditional and folk music as well as a feast of theatre, readings, children’s events, Irish language events and cinema.

Spend the weekend immersed in Irish song with Amano, a singer and multidisciplinary artist whose work blends sean-nós, contemporary folk and spoken word.

Friday evening brings a live concert at The Glens Arts Centre, followed on Saturday by a fully bilingual Irish song workshop — an opportunity to explore the tradition, language and stories that live within Irish song.

The Adaptation Film Festival is back!
Leitrim and Sligo, 16th-20th Sept

German Oscar-winning director Volker Schlondorff joins author Colm Tóibín and director Pat Murphy at this year’s Leitrim-Sligo Adaptation Film Festival. There are over ten films shot in the region SLR screening alongside a European programme. Do you have an idea for a short play? Have you an interest in playwriting? Do you want to see your work read on stage?

Then take part in Play in a Day! - an exciting Culture Night workshop where you’ll have the opportunity to write a new theatrical masterpiece and see it performed on The Glens Arts Centre stage the very next day! Guided by playwright Treasa Nealon (‘The Back of the Bus’, Fishamble and ‘Homesick’, Dublin Fringe Festival) during an welcoming and creative workshop the evening before Culture Night, you will have until 12pm the next day to submit your plays!

Spaces are limited. Please register your interest with your play idea and a sample of your writing to [email protected] by 5pm Friday 4th September.
