Another very eventful weekend from all at Longford Triathlon Club 💪💪💪
Massive Congratulations to Damien Bannon who smashed Ironman Wales today, Damien You Are an Ironman .. Incredible Stuff 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️1️⃣4️⃣0️⃣▪️6️⃣🎉🎉🎉
Our adventuring duo Eiviltas Evan Quigley & Catherine ʚϊɞ took to Achill for Adventure Racing Ireland Achill Roar as part of the 2026 National Solo Adventure Race Series. Evan came 3rd in his Sport distance race and Catherine was 9th overall in the challenge race. Well done guys 👏👏👏
Staying West we had Rita Moran taking on the
Gaelforce Events Great Fjord Swim in Killary Harbour. Well done Rita 👏👏🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️
Closer to home the roads of Longford were covered in the Heartland Wheelers Cycling Club Tour of Longford Cycle. We had Sean Crossan David McLynn Margaret Gallagher Geraldine Brady Mary Corkery Mark Sheirdan & Rohan Jangam tackling the 100k cycle and Seamus Murtagh Sinead Smith & Ann Gilna all taking on the 60k.
Congratulations to all 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️👏👏👏
Another week , another Marathon , Massive Congratulations to Edel O Hanlon who completed yet another Marathon this werkend , taking on the Killkenny Medievil Marathon. 💪💪💪🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
Massive Congratulations are also in store for John Farrell who travelled with Longford parkrun to Inis Meain this weekend. John conpleted his 150th Parkrun and not only that he came in first place . Well done John, a great achievement 👏👏👏🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏆🏆
And well done to all our members who were out swimming, cycling , running & training over the weekend .

A busy weekend again for all at Longford Triathlon Club .
Well done to John Farrelll, Chantel Higgins, Jacqueline Mahon Catherine ʚϊɞ Caroline Casey Noel McKeon & Stephanie Scanlon who all hit The Lough Ree Monster Triathlon hosted by Athlone Triathlon Club . A special Congratulations to Caroline who completed her first Sprint Distance and to Noel who did his first Try-a-Tri.🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️👏👏👏🥳
In Limerick we had Kate Sexton , Rita Moran , Marie Devlin Clyne & Jules Ledwith all swimming in the 3.9k Island swim .🏊‍♂️🏊‍♂️ Brilliant stuff ladies 👌👌
Over in Anna's Lake , another Swim Ireland race for Edel Nolan Julia Radave Aileen Ward & Margaret Boyle all taking on the 1.9k distance.🏊‍♂️🏊‍♂️
John Farrell was back in action today racing the LARCC 5k run in Kinnegad.
Great stuff also from all our club members who were out this weekend , upping the distance on their swims, cycles and runs in preparation for the upcoming trip to Portugal for the Ironman & Ironman 70.3. The clock is ticking ...

🚨 CLUB MATS REMOVED — IMMEDIATE RETURN NEEDED 🚨

Two of our club’s swim exit mats have been removed from Coosan Point. They are needed for tomorrow morning’s Lough Ree Monster Triathlon and we need them returned immediately.

We are disgusted and deeply disappointed. This is a volunteer-run club delivering a volunteer-run event. Two members spent HOURS sourcing, cleaning, assembling and laying this matting to make the exit safer and more comfortable for participants and the marshals assisting at this area.

This equipment was installed for a specific reason. It was not abandoned or free to take and should never have been moved. To disregard that effort and leave our volunteers with this problem hours before the race is unacceptable.

CCTV footage will be passed to the Gardaí.

Please return the mats to the swim exit at Coosan Point, or contact this page immediately to arrange their return.

Please share - we have very little time to get these back before our race.

What a jam packed weekend for Longford Triathlon Club.
We had several Club members running in the Longford Marathon , Half Marathon and Streets of Longford 5k this morning. Well done to all and a special bualadh bos to Maggie Smith who was 5th Female across the line in the Half Marathon. Congratulations to you all 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
Over on Lough Key we had a great turnout for the Triathlon with Club Member Eiviltas Evan Quigley taking the podium there.
Further afield in Kerry we had Rohan Jangam taking part in The Lost Sheep Half Ironman , well done Rohan👏👏🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️
A great weekend"s work all round for the Club with a few members also flying the endurance flag at the Picnic 🎉🎉

Another very busy week for the Longford Triathlon Club .
We had Swimming in Tarmon on Monday.
Running with Brendan Doyle and Pilates with Kate Sexton on Tuesday.
Wednesday we had our cycling groups on the road.
Well done to our members who cycled over and competed in the Longford AC Trail Run Series. A special Congratulations to Caroline Casey who was first lady back again . 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️💪💪
A wonderful event hosted by Athlone Triathlon Club on Thursday saw our ladies compete in the very enjoyable Try your Way Aquathlon with distances to suit all. 🏊‍♂️🏃‍♀️
The men in the Club also hit the waters with an impressive 3k swin in Lanesborgh.
Well done to our Club members Sean Crossan , Enda Coffey,, David McLynn & Jerome Tully who took on the 70.3 distances on Saturday. 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️💪💪
Congratulations are in order for Eiviltas Evan Quigley who came second in the Knock Me Down trail series on Saturday. Amazing stuff from Evan🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️🛶🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️💪💪
Sunday we had a fantastic Sea Swim session in Rosses Point with Jules Ledwith . Lots of drills, practicing race entry & exit followed by a very refreshing sea swim and obligatory lunch.
Well done to all our members who were out swimming, cycling & running , ready to go again today for another jam packed week ahead. 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️
