SCI to Dock Beach - SWIM CANCELLED

It's with great sadness that we will have to cancel the swim this weekend. We had alternative plans to make try and make the swim happen including different routes and to move it to Sunday, but the weather is just not playing ball...
:(

We are looking at alternative dates, but it is currently not possible for the month of August. We will keep you posted.

Again thank you for all your entries, all of the money is being donated to a very worthwhile cause, the CUH Stroke Unit.

As you may have heard there's a subtropical cyclone about to hit Irish shores tomorrow evening....we will be monitoring the weather carefully over the next 48 hours before we make any decisions on the swim.

We do have alternative plans in place, but if there is debris in the water or if the weather is not yet settled, we may need to reschedule. Unfortunately this is the nature of open water swimming, we are at the mercy of the weather, and your safety is our priority.

We will keep you updated as much as possible.

Closing Date for Entries is Thursday 8th August @ 12pm.

Please note, weather is looking unfavourable at the moment, fingers crossed it will change before Saturday...however, we have a plan B should the weather not permit us to swim to the Dock. We will hold the race at Sandycove Island with inside laps if it is safe to do so.

GREAT NEWS!!! We are now able to accept swimmers with Special Membership from Swim Ireland!!

We are united in our love of the water. The early mornings. The after school lessons. The first break of the waves. The tussle for the ball. The little voice that tells us to push on... to get back in the pool, go one more length, get out to the buoy.
