THANK YOU AND RACE REPORT KINSALE 10 2026

On Sunday 22nd February 2026 Kinsale had the absolute pleasure of welcoming 933 fantastic runners with their families and supporters to the seventh edition of Kinsale 10 mile road race. To all the athletes that came we say thank you and you made it a great day in Kinsale. To all the kind volunteers we also say thank you.

Runners came again from near and far. Some runners passed their own homes as they ran, while others travelled huge distances to run Kinsale 10 mile 2026
There is something really special in the fact that people come together, share the same road and share similar goal to run Kinsale 10 mile or any race. This achievement of racing ten miles is made even more remarkable by the fact the weather for 2 months prior to race day had been atrocious making training difficult and no doubt very challenging at times for all the runners. Huge congratulations to all the Kinsale 10 milers of 2026.

Kinsale 10 mile has fantastic people take the race title over the years and again 2026 added to the prestigious list.

We had a very deserving winner in Evan Fitzgerald (West Waterford AC) who led from gun to tape to run home in an excellent time 50.55. Runner up in 2024, this year was a superb victory. He clearly had victory in his grasp as early as the 1st mile but he did not lay off the gas at any point. Well Done Evan

Niamh Allen (Leevale AC) took the ladies title in a phenomenal time of 53.59 and was third overall in the race, We were thrilled to have Niamh run our course and take the ladies title and course record . A lady that has already proudly represented Ireland on numerous occasions over a short period of time, and showcased her remarkable ability by finishing 21st in the World Cross Country in 2026 in Tallahassee, Florida on 10th January 2026 . This was Niamh’s first race since the world’s and again there is no doubt that the time she ran in Kinsale will go down as one of faster ten milers by an Irish lady on Irish soil. Well Done Niamh.

Mark Walsh (Leevale AC) was second home, running a very strong race in a time of 53.35 (previously finishing 4th in 2024). Pat Hennessy (West Waterford AC) took third position in 55.13. Pat was Kinsale 10 winner in 2020 and again it was great to welcome all three back for Kinsale 10 2026

Previous Course record holder and ladies race winner from 2023 Hannah Steeds Leevale AC took second position in the ladies in a great time 58.34. Kealey Tideswell (Clonmel AC) took 3rd position (1.01.48 ) less than 24 hours after taking the ladies title in the clonmel trail half marathon on Saturday .A huge congratulations to all on your fantastic achievements.

Throughout the morning great goals and times were achieved by all participants but we cannot let the moment pass without mentioning another stand out performance of the day when Tony Dunne (Grange Fermoy AC) took the over 80 age group title in a time 1.51.56.

We would also like to also take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers. We understand time is a precious commodity these days so everyone who helped in anyway, thank you and it is greatly appreciated.

A whole crazy collage full of smiling women at the Kinsale 10mile Road Race 2026. I haven't seen so many smiling women since the women's Galway Mini Marathon! This collage was originally meant to be a mix of smiling men and women which I pulled out of the pile in quite a random way, but I ended up with a disproportionate number of women in the collage, so decided to simply make it all about women - cos everyone knows women smile more when the going gets tough :-).
