Congratulations Alana

Comhghairdeas le Alanna Barrett agus Doireann Markham a bhuaigh Féile Náisiúnta Drámaíochta an Oireachtais aréir i gCathair na Mart.
Huge congratulations to our own Alanna Barrett and Doireann Markham who were both part of a 3-person cast in an Irish-language play which won the Féile Náisiúnta Drámaíochta, the all-Ireland drama festival for Irish language drama. Alanna also won best overall actress at the awards. The play was "An Rud Eatarthu" written and directed by Seamas Cafferky, and was an outstanding success.
Well done to all involved. It's great to see Irish language drama in our own area. This play was entered by St Patrick's Drama Group in Westport, and our group (as well as providing 2/3 of the cast) supported this production with rehearsal space and props.

Following the sad passing last year of our remarkable President of 10 years, Mr. Edward Kilcullen, a new chapter began this evening at our AGM as we appointed a new President of the Enniscrone Show.

Please join me in congratulating Mr. Larry Jones on his appointment. Larry has been an integral part of the Enniscrone Show for over 30 years — from the days when the show was held in the Castle Field in Enniscrone, to supporting and strengthening the current committee in delivering the fantastic event we proudly host today in Castleconnor.

The Jones family have been at the heart of the Enniscrone Show for decades and we wish Larry every success in his new role as President. A truly deserving appointment.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Bos and Johnny Kilcullen, sons of Edward, who graciously handed over the Chain of Honour this evening.

Happy Christmas from Enniscrone Show and all the committee in Castleconnor
