The Whale Theatre are delighted to be one of the recipients of the Grassroots Music Venues funding award which will enable us to expand our support for up-and-coming artists in our programme of events in the coming months.

As a voluntary, community-led management company, it is intrinsic to our vision that we nurture young artistic talent and create performance opportunities for artists on the rise.

At the same time, as with all small venues, we are always under financial pressure to make ends meet and we rely on public funding, donations and sponsorship to stay afloat. The Grassroots funding is a welcome shot in the arm for us to provide additional showcase events and we look forward to sharing the benefits with the artists and our audiences.
