Mná Mná (which means 'Women Women' in Irish) is a once-a-month showcase for women in music, held at The Roisin Dubh, Galway City, Ireland. Women have been involved in the making of music since the dawn of time. They have climbed the heights, and explored the depths of tune and song, though sometimes the going was tough. n music was sadly disproportionate. Today women are making music, and making a living in music across every genre, from rock to roots and everything in between. "Women in music are strong, brave, hard working and independent". As Etta James once said, "Women in this business have to take care of themselves, make their own living, and be their own boss. I'm just happy that women are where they are today"
Our mission is to showcase the wealth of talented women in music; be they local or on tour. The criteria for performers includes that the front person of the band, (or the solo artist if that's the case) must be female! Of course any additional band members of all genders are welcome! We welcome all audiences - all that's required is wanting to hear good music! :)
